Stars cover "This Charming Man"

Picked up an EP from a band called Stars (on the Le Grand Magistery label) with a cover of "This Charming Man". It's a nice, smooth techno take on the classic. The rest of the EP, however, sounds like Pet Shop Boys, sans acerbic wit.

Actually, I've heard this version and it's one of the better Smiths covers - it's different and quite, erm...charming.

Hi! I saw the Stars live in London last April and was very impressed so I decided to put a snippet of their cover of This Charming Man on the web. You can find it here:

I Stars perform here in NYC at FEZ and was pleasantly suprised by their groovy-jazzy-electronic take on This Charming Man. They sound like the bastard love child of St. Etienne and PreFabSprout with Morrissey and the Pet Shop Boys serving as the god parents....
