Oddly titled story from dotmusic, but here's a little tidbit on Paul Carrack:

PAUL CARRACK THE FIFTH SMITH?

Paul Carrack has been talking to dotmusic about his amazing musical cv. The man in the hat who has played with everybody from the Smiths to Eric Clapton has just released his best ever solo album, 'Satisfy My Soul' on his own label.

"I didn't really do much with the Smiths," he claims. "I knew John Porter who was producing their first album and I only lived around the corner so they rang me up and I did some keyboards." Carrack went on to work with Squeeze and to become a key member of Mike And The Mechanics before returning to his current solo phase.

In a fascinating interview he explains how it feels to have played on the biggest selling single of all time and whether or not Mike And The Mechanics will ever record together again. You can watch the video interview with Paul by clicking here.
