  • There are more important things to talk about than that. But, YES, Morrissey was right walking out from stage. I would do the same. What's the point on throwing anything to someone?

Say if this has been a "big" star such as Streisand, McCartney, Mcdonna, etc, there would have been a huge public uproar! This wanker of a presenter referred to Morrissey as "a petulant pop star" in the end. He deserves to be sacked immediately. BBC take note.

OK, when you're 18 and playing in some piss-soaked underground mosh pit you might not mind too much having beer flying around & hurled towards you but this programme is giving a totally WRONG message to people in saying that it's ok or "just Rock'n'Roll" to throw drinks on stage.

  • So this presenter is saying it's OK to throw things because it's rock'n'roll?

My complaint is in the post to his TV bosses.

You go to any public space in the UK these days - buses, tube, shops, banks - and there are signs stating no abusive behaviour will be tolerated.

  • Morrissey's actions speak louder than words. This is why I respect him. Often the silence is better.

  • Morrissey was right to walk off the stage!

It's a sad state of affairs when Britian's greatest singer-somgwriter has to have a bottle thrown at him in order to be mentioned on television and when he is an annoying prick like Matthew Wright talks so negetively about him.

These people couldn't identify talent to save their lives.

  • This man basically said in prime time TV that it's OK to throw missiles in the name of "Rock'n'Roll". And if you walk off you're a hissy fit pop star.

Just wait - I WILL have a case against this man!

  • Throwing things to people in the name of rock'n'roll is o.k.? What?!! What an stereotype!! Well,no! Most rock'n'roll people admire their idols and respect them. People should be complaining about the idiot who throwed the bottle and spoiled the concert and Morrissey's evening.
By the way, why do they spent money in a Tv show like that? Matthew is pathetic! Well, I guess you don't need much brains to do a programm like that! You are not very bright Mr Wright!

  • A truly grotesque individual. He carefully presents a cuddly, little persona on here but he's far from that in reality.

This is light entertainment for people with blue rinses, those on smack and people who consider daytime TV a legitimate obstacle to finding gainful employment. OK, the last comment sounds like a perfectly legitimate reason not to work but you get my point.

Anyway, as I said elsewhere, Morrissey was wrong to walk off but we must forgive him because artists like Morrissey live by different rules and must follow their hearts. That is both the reason we love him dearly and the reason he walked off. One cannot have it both ways.

  • That little man (what now? C5? oh dear) knocked Moz about 10 years ago on a tv show with Jo Wiley, and Billy Bragg stepped in and politely informed him about how Morrissey mattered in a manner that the little man had no idea a pop star could possibly matter. It still sticks to this day...watching a schoolboy get an education on tv and he's supposed to be qualified on these things...lol. I wouldn't watch that clip because I don't watch his show, but I'm aware of his mis-informed ways and it makes me feel talented even in a hangover!
