Which would you rather watch on Bonfire night.. your gorgeous girlfriend cavorting in a corset cut in the colours of your favourite team - or a 50-year-old miserablist on stage in a cavernous concert hall in north London?

You guessed it. While his girlfriend of two months Katy Perry stunned crowds at the MTV Awards in Germany last night, her beau Russell Brand was in the crowd for Morrissey's gig at Alexandra Palace - with an enormous bodyguard for company.

Kate wowed the glitzy gala in Berlin with a sizzling cabaret zipping through 12 sexy costumes - including a bodice and fishnets in claret and blue, the colours of die-hard West Ham fan Brand's team.

But while she was suggestively running her fingers over the Hammers badges on her boobs, Brand - who named his cat Morrissey - watched transfixed as Moz, looking trim and well after his on-stage collapse, rattled through 90 minutes of Smiths classics and solo hits.

To be fair, at one point the Smiths singer did remove his blazer to reveal a black silk shirt unbuttoned to the chest.

Beat that Kate!

        and who, exactly, is russel brand? is he some celeb i wouldn't know because i'm american? i only know who his girlfriend is, and apparently she'd never heard of mozza before him. and her music is god awful. i wish morrissey-solo would report on better celeb mozfans than paramore girl and this brand fellow. how about my personal favorite miss hilary duff? or thomas lennon? or sexonastick brandon flowers? or how about me? i'm pretty famous in my town for being an insane mozfan. lets run a story on me.

            Morrissey has offered to look after Russell's cat,named Morrissey,while he is away chasing fame and fortune in the USA. Russell seems to like Katy, so good luck to him.
