Excerpt:
His friend Jonathan Ross says...
...Close friend Jonathan Ross has been in touch with the Smiths legend's PA who has confirmed that Morrissey “seems OK” and is “resting”.
Writing on Twitter, Ross later said: “Latest Moz update. He is resting and hoping to finish these dates, inc. Albert hall on Tuesday. Will keep you posted as and when. X”

I was a critic of much of his setlist's from earlier in the year, but the the first show of this tour
For some reason,he will have to take some time off now but perhaps he will come back sparkling!

Obviously the majority of people were wellwishers, whose thoughts were with someone who means a great deal to them. However, for some reason, there is still a contingent of Morrissey "fans", who think that others shouldn't be allowed to adore him in the same way fans of e.g. Elvis, Sinatra, Michael Jackson, or The Beatles adore their idols. Why not? Most people enjoy having that unconditional adoration for an extraordinary public figure. He's an idol, an icon, some would say a great poet who's enriched many people's lives. Of course the persona of 'Morrissey' is a figment of his own fans imaginations, of course as a human being he's not infallible. However, just because many people from all walks of life are upset by the news that someone they admire is ill, why should they be knocked for their feelings?
It seems there are those who follow Morrissey because they enjoy berating him, for not quite measuring up to his Smiths' days, for getting old, for still enjoying making music for his fans and himself and for still having an opinion. But why should those people feel the need to come and post inflamatory remarks on a fan site? Obviously you know who you are and I hope you feel some twinge of embarassment that Moz knows it too and wrote 'All You Need Is Me' about you.
Obviously you think us (his more ardent fans) sad for indulging in the kind of idolatory that's been around since time immemorial (you think Morrissey fans are mad, just look how educated society treated poets like Byron). However, all you who rushed onto the internet last night to accuse Morrissey of faking his illness, or to rubbish people's feelings, or just to try and get one up on someone else's post, by being condescending and cocky, well you're the saddest one's of all. You actively sought out a fansite to show how much you disliked the artist to which it's dedicated (and isn't it telling that you nearly all stayed Anonymous.)
