What a good personal interview!

The Independent piece was cliched shite, but this I thought was quite inciteful.

I thought Andy came across as a really good bloke,reflective and happy with his life.

Nice to know he gets on with Johnny these days.

I don't think any of the Smiths mind talking about The Smiths, but they just resent being asked the same old shite. This interview avoided most of that. Very good read.

    Why did Morrissey see fit to respond to this statement. It is not as if its the first time this has been said, and it is also a complete throw away comment in the interview, it seems a bit over the top to bother to respond.

        Just got around to reading the interview.

        I winced at the bracketed text of this line:
        "because whether I was being screwed [out of songwriting royalties] or not"

        I can't decide if the interviewer really doesn't understand that Mike Joyce was/is not due any songwriting royalties (since Joyce wrote no words or music) or if the interviewer was just trying to stir shit. I'm concluding it's both.

        So, I'm refilling the brackets with something more amusing to me because (like the interviewer) I can!

          Andy Rourke is very jealous of Morrissey. The reason why Andy Rourke wants The Smiths to get back together is for the money it it pure GREED on Andy Rourke's part. Rourke isn't doing it for the ART and he wouldn't do it for charity. Andy Rourke wants The Smiths to get back together for the money and the glory and fame because he has a massive ego. Morrissey is an ARTIST something Andy Rourke will never be!! I doubt Morrissey will ever work with Andy Rourke ever again.

              As someone else pointed out how on earth did Andy Rourke get a work visa? Is Andy Rourke living in Brooklyn, New York illegally?
              Andy Rourke has little experience as a DJ, he has no education (no qualifications), and by his own admission he isn't planning to return to the UK when his visa is up in 3 years so he lied on a visa application!!
              Plus there are excellent DJ's in the United States who can do his job so he should have been denied.
              Wasn't he arrested for drug use as well? Yes Andy Rourke was arrested and charged for drug use and buying drugs for his own consumption in the 1980s. If Andy Rourke had a 'criminal record' it might be void by now and shouldn't stop him from living in the states?
              Did his girlfriend Heather go with him? Yes his girlfriend is with him. What visa did she get? I don't know what type of visa she has.
