The Smiths are laughing all the way to the bank - The Independent
New fanbase for Mancunian miserablists who split 22 years ago
By Victoria Richards

"the morose four-piece's following is stronger than ever, thanks in part to the recent clever coupling of hits "Please, Please, Please, Let Me Get What I Want" and "There Is a Light That Never Goes Out" with the new offbeat indie comedy (500) Days of Summer. "

What a terrible piece.. (Score:0)
such an inaccurate, typical lazy-arsed piece of journalism as usual. Just like the same crap that was being written about them in 1984.

I read it, and yes, it's pointless (Score:1)
Not all of the band are laughing all the way to the bank, but that's obviously another story.

And so I drank one, it became four, and when I fell on the floor, I drank more

Just about the worst, most pointless piece of journalism ever...well, at least since my cat stopped typing.
I guess they had to pay someone to write something as they were giving away the 'Queen Is Dead' DVD with the paper.
Hey ho, life is a cabaret.

I was expecting some evidence that 500 days of Summer had led to a resurgence in album sales for The Smiths. You know, facts and figures. Or something. Utterly pointless speculation.

Have you ever noticed that when the media covers something you actually know something about it is nearly always full of inaccuracies? So does that mean that all the other stuff in the media that I know little about is also wrong and should be simply ignored as this article should be (the financial crisis, global warming, the Middle East, Adebayor's conduct, Elton John's adoption views)?
