We're very pleased to announce that our guest DJ at How Does It Feel To Be Loved? at the Phoenix in London this Saturday is Gary Day, who played bass in Morrissey's band, and played on "Your Arsenal", "You Are The Quarry" and "Ringleader Of The Tormentors". He's also played in a host of cool rockabilly bands, and we're hoping he'll be bringing a bit of rock'n'roll with him on Saturday night.

        forever?

the Walker bro's are good musicians but tend to
hip to another band when they have no clue,
in this situation,Morrissey when okt/nov shows are over, but the bills have to be payed every day, I bet they earned good money, but if Neil
Finn needs a bassist and a drummer early 2010
and they come in sight, they take the next bus with Neil on tour.
        Or whatever band ,singer, etc.
Maybe they gonna start their own

so if Morrissey is tour over 2 years, maybe
Day gets a call if he available and want to go on
        tour with thee big M

all this is writing is just an example, nothing
true, just wanna try to explain how things can go
and that the Walker Bro's worked for various artists allready.

How humiliating it must be to have to peddle yourself and your dodgy record collection on the back of the fact that you once worked alongside that guy who used to be in The Smiths. If Gary had any sense of pride, he'd insist that no venue would be allowed to state "ex-Morrissey bassist" on the bill in a feeble attempt to draw in the punters.

I don't think that this is humiliating... Gary was, in my opinion, Morrissey's best and most versatile bassists... I mean think about that break-out on "Sing Your Life" live - and besides, he has done some great things on several other projects, Morrissey certainly being his most popular...

I think the fact that he's also willing to spin Morrissey and the Smiths also shows that he's into the music like all of us, not just a hired gun who fades away or excuses himself to play this other, "good charlatans." He truly loved the music that he was able to be a part of, so why not get paid for celebrating it?
