The HMV store in Queens Road Southend on Sea that was featured in the video clip for "Everyday Is Like Sunday" is to close - at the the time of filming the store was owned by indie and second hand record retailers Golden Disc - who still have a shop in the same street a couple of doors down! Check it out before it's gone!

Not surprising really. A lot of the record shops in the UK are closing. I find this very very sad.

Well, I hadn't seen the the video to this song until just now, being only 19. I had often wondered what 'costal town' Morrissey was refering, but always thought it was be something more larger and significant like Brighton.

I live quite near Southend and watching the video I can spot so many areas that are instantly recognisable today, and some bits that haven't changed since filming!

Sad indeed. When in London where should I go to find 7", 12" vinyl? Any good address?? Best wishes, Rob Benders, Netherlands

It saddens me. We've done this. I swear if I ever win the lotto or save enough ca$h, I WILL open a record shop.
Whenever I saw this vid, I daydreamed of going shopping around that area like Lucette did in the vid. I can honestly tell you 98% of my musical purchases are made at Amoeba or Melrose Music. I do have an Itunes account which I hardly ever use.
        This/us/the economy/the internets...its all a double edged sword....

This reminds me. Does anyone know the name of the fish and chips restaurant in South Kennsington where the Smiths broke up? I wanna visit all these places. The seaside record store, salford lads club, the grave maurice etc but i've no idea where that restaurant was.
