Statement from Morrissey:

I would like to stress that I have nothing whatsoever to do with Twitter, myspace, Facebook, or Flickr, and anyone or any site claiming to be expressing my views or my identity is/are bogus.

Guys, really. He could've clarified "bogus" vs. "my label/management," but you know what he meant (and, I guess, they're synonymous from the point of view of the question "is it Morrissey?").

He's on a major label. One of the downsides of that is that stupid stuff sometimes gets done in your name, just as one of the upsides (presumably) is publicity and booking and distribution and shit. In fact, these folks probably think that creating a Twitter that vaguely masquerades as Morrissey's words IS publicity. This is because, once again, corporations don't understand that social media are just that, and a social-media account for a corporate entity or real but absent figure is going to be seen through immediately.

Reading the myspace message closer, it was written in third person, so I believe Moz's True-to-You statement as his own, being as he trusts Julia and it's written in first person. Coming from the record company (?) myspace, though, it's easy to overlook that upon first read. (Well, all those Catholic school grammar lessons still come in useful in the age of lightning-speed networking technology!)

What's dubious is the rotten original source of info that told David T that the show had been cancelled.
