Jamesspm posted in the forums his find of the sailor backdrop (link posted in the previous comments by Uncleskinny):

BBC Radio2 Sailor backdrop

Here is the original picture of the sailor used for the Radio2 gig backdrop last week.

I don't know who he is, who took the picture, whereabouts or when. I searched for ages and finally found it Google after searching 'sailor cigar'.

Some additionally, from the thread:

From Kotcha:
Artydesigns uploaded it. He is from Manchester. Image posted on Flickr.

From 21punksalute:
Morrissey hinted at this backdrop weeks ago...

see, now this is a far better shot than the "Paris" inner sleeve. It's not Moz bare mussle either.. it doesn't have to be... he is far more sexier standing there in this shot fully clothed... he makes you want to grab him and rip his clothes off!... (see how the IMAGINATION works!) (not that I would do that nor would he want ME to! LOL

It's an iconic image - gay or not - reminds of the classic Sid Vicious muscle pose and generally it's quite Smiths-esque. And it's funny too.

Which is more gay, the fact he's loving such a picture, or the picture underneath, where he's trying to flex in such an effeminate manner?

Moz needs to come out of the closet already. It's getting tiresome. He's the gayest of the gay in everything he does. Honestly, he makes Andy Bell look like a womanizer!

It astounds and staggers me that (above) the Morrissey sexuality debate is even an issue.

The first Smiths single was Hand In Glove in 1983. Morrissey has never chosen to speak about his sexuality, and why should he? From that song on everything has been very honest and clear.

It's insane that people still bring up Morrissey being gay as a debate. He's always been gay! He's a gay as the day! Wasn't that clear 25 years ago?

I'm hetrosexual, not that it matters a jot, but have always taken as fact Morrissey's gay. Surely there really aren't any people out there who think otherwise?

Looking back over the years he's had some really good ones. A great deal of thought goes into choosing them. I think he also does it to annoy (some) people which is no bad thing.

I love the moment when the curtain drops and the GIGANTIC backdrop is there!
