Was Johnny Marr a Banshee?

Just been reading about this new Siouxsie boxset of sessions and concerts

Anyway, the announcer for the 1988 Royal Albert Hall gig that was recorded and broadcast on Radio 1 said that on guitar was Mr Johnny Marr!

This also supports it.

Anyway, if this is true then Johnny Marr's brief time as a Banshees guitarist is to be released commercially and digitally remastered!

A Smiths or Morrissey boxset would be something along similar lines.... this looks excellent and I'm not that big a fan of the Banshees

New fact, no surprise. Just watch YouTube, Siouxsie, 1981, Rockpalast concert: there's a strong similarity between John McGeogh and Johnny Marr in stage presence and playing style.

And on Wiki I found this: "Johnny Marr from The Smiths stated on the BBC Radio 2 in February 2008 that he rated McGeoch very highly for his work with Magazine and Siouxsie & the Banshees (especially "Spellbound")".

Robert Smith worked with Siouxsie; Morrissey collaborated with Siouxsie

Whatever feelings we may have for them all individually, a collaboration of all together could be an interesting mix.

I mean he's the one for Peepshow, and if I'm not mistaken did the Peepshow tour, of which the RAH 1988 gig was part.

Wasn't Marr with The The at that time, gigging and recording?

yes this is a morrissey forum, but without marr
morrissey wouldn't have had the fanatstic music
to his lyrics. This type of small mindedness pisses me off. The Morrissey/Marr partnership was what made the music. Show some resepct for the man
