Morrissey's Got Beef with PETA (TMZ follow-up)

So you know PETA was pissed at TMZ for calling the organ-ization out after we ribbed an animal rights activist out for eating at a steakhouse. PETA felt it was just ducky for non-meat eaters to eat at meat eateries.

Turns out Morrissey -- who is a vegetarian -- wasn't actually at STK on Monday, but at the Belmont, the joint next door. Moz's rep tells TMZ that he not only didn't go to STK -- he would never go to a steakhouse! Meat IS murder. That kinda leaves PETA hangin'...

So how do ya like them meatballs, PETA?!

Even in a steakhouse, vegetarians are generally catered for if not their usual preference for obvious reasons.

There is a Mozza fan at TMZ for sure. I've been seeing Morrisey stories on that web page for awhile now and that's the only thing that explains how and WHY they are talking about him.
I mean come on...it's Morrissey...he's not really a hot gossip item for people in the US except us =)

I do believe he is. To him it has never been a "celebrity phase". He has been a staunch vegetarian since & before The Smiths days. No wonder he was so puny in those days! But now there's plenty of ice cream in LA!

I heard after the MSG gig in July 1991 Morrissey was seen at Dinero's steak house (sorry, don't know the name of it) after the show. I heard there was a bunch of celebrities and what not there.

Does anyone else remember this story?

there is some sort of steak on the menu at the Cat and Fiddle or whatever that pub in LA Morrissey frequents every other night.

Fact is, if the man did not frequent any establishment that served meat, he'd be eating a lot of crackers and cheese in his hotel room.
