  • I like this idea, and I'd dearly love to contribute...but is anyone else worried about the rights issue? I wish I were a lawyer:
    -----
In consideration of the prizes you hereby irrevocably licence to Polydor/Decca Limited with full title guarantee all rights (including copyright) in your artwork entry for the duration of all such rights for the world. You hereby confirm that we can use the artwork created by you in all media whether now known or hereafter developed and give all such consents as may be necessary to enable us to exploit the artwork and that we may alter the same if circumstances require it. Such licence shall be exclusive.

You are free to licence to us the rights under this agreement

You agree not to enforce your moral rights against us or our licensees.

Does this mean that if I submit a photograph, I thenceforth have no rights to it at all??

  • That's a fun idea. Also, check out the "vegan rock stars" list. Since Morrissey says he's still into dairy and leather I couldn't put him on the list, but I put a special logo of him at the bottom. But if you know of more vegan rock stars, then contribute!

  • I still have a really huge oversized poster of Moz sunbathing in a speedo...it's rolled up tucked away in the closet. Think I should take a picture of that? I always wanted to frame it but never have. I don't think my husband would like it on the wall.....

        Under New Management

As some of you may have noticed there have been a few changes at Morrissey MySpace. It is indeed under new management by Decca Records. We understand that a large number of you are still waiting to be added as friends (over 3,000) and wanted to let you know that you will eventually be accepted so please be patient.

In the meantime watch this space as we have quite a few exciting announcements to make in the coming weeks. -

The new song is running there now too.

It's cranking up into life smartly.

my god, that's tough, he's stood us up, no point in us remaining
  • I emailed mine before I read the terms, yes, what a moron I am. I then emailed again to say do what you like with the photo but just don't use my name anywhere. My family have no idea of my tattoos. I suppose the chances of them finding out are remote tho! Still... I'm on that supercult page as it happens, that's me outside Salford Lads Club with the Speedway lyric on my back ;o)

  • I assume the 'devotional' aspect of this request is ironic.

Over the years Morrissey has alerted me to many fantastic cultural resources (books, films, music), so it might be fun to assemble them all on a 'virtual bookshelf' with a nice picture of Morrissey overlaid. The spines of the books, albums and video cases enlarged to create a nice 'wallpaper' effect.

I remember those snaps of him in his Chelsea abode with all the Oscar Wilde tomes on the mantel-piece behind him, using my monocle to peer at the covers / spines for any genuine rarities, 1st editions, etc.

I don't do tattoos or branded T-Shirts or any of the other ephemera / paraphernalia so that's all I could offer. Not that there’s anything wrong with festooning your body with Morrissey tattoos! Whatever floats your boat.

A similar idea might be for someone to show before and after shots of their larder / fridge if they've been persuaded ( NOT converted! ) to vegetarianism or veganism by Morrissey's campaigning views. Compassion in World Farming is a must, even if you still want to be some kind of gauche gaucho.

    'nuff respec! laters!

PS: There's a really good contributor to this site called 'goinghome' who seems to know 'quite a lot' about books, having read some of his comment history. It shows how Morrissey does indeed attract an aesthetically authentic audience, even if he also attracts a bizarre concatenation of fanatics as well.
