I was surprised when I watched the Season Finale of Extras on HBO on demand to find that maybe halfway thru the episode a good portion of "please please let me get what I want" was used. That was the first time in all the episodes I recall a song being used in a segment on the show.

In the US, the feature-length "Extras: Extra Special Series Finale" aired this past Sunday 12/16, and The Smiths' classic "Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want" was featured in its entirety during a key scene. Nice to hear it in one of my favorite shows!

yesterday. Loved the part with Please Please..

I really wish they would have continued the show. The 2nd season wasn't as funny as the first though.

Please Please Please was also in Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986) during the art scene, but the song is a cover. And not a good one.

Series not season (Score:1)

Extras is a British comedy and therefore we have series and not seasons. We in the UK manage to talk about Seinfeld Season 1 or Curb Season 1, so why can't you do the same and say 'series' when it comes to British comedies? I know this is really petty, but it's one of those things that really annoys me (and after all Morrissey-Solo is full of petty whiners so I thought I might as well join them).

I've just noticed that this Extras season finale is scheduled to be screened at 9pm next Thursday on BBC1. Highly recommended.
