Morrissey to release greatest hits

Excerpt:

The 15-track collection, out February 4, will be proceeded by the release of brand new single 'That's How People Grow Up' on January 28.

The song was produced by Jerry Finn who produced 2004's comeback LP 'You Are The Quarry', and will be backed by live versions of 'The Last Of The Famous International Playboys', 'The Boy With The Thorn In His Side' and 'Why Don't You Find Out For Yourself'.

The former Smiths singer is currently working on a new studio album with Finn, which he is planning to release in the autumn of next year.

  • Deliberately unflattering photo?!

    I should say so!

They purposely picked the worst one they could find, and one from 2006 instead of '07, no less.
I'm sure they had quite a laff while doing so, as well. Arses.

    Conor, go to hell.

Et pour cause, outre ce nouveau morceau, le CD comprendra rien de moins que trois titres live en bonus : The last of the famous international playboys, Why don’t you find out for yourself et le classique des Smiths The boy with the thorn in his side.

  • I just can't believe that in 2008 we have Morrissey putting out 7" singles. Think about that for just a second. 7" singles. Nice little stop-gaps until the new album. I honestly think that's pretty amazing. And if Kristeen's voice is turned down enough in the mix I might actually buy one, too.

Will the real Slim Shady please stand up? Please stand up. Please stand up.

There must be someone out there who can validate which of all of these alleged compilations are valid.

    Thank You

  • Not very exciting / inspiring b sides to go with the several formats of the single. Only sign of anything good is the fact that Morrissey has teamed up with the producer of his best ever studio album - surely it can't get as bad as Kill Uncle and Ringleader ever again !!

  • Our hero who gave us hope has turned into a nasty, vindictive, greedy little money grabbing man. What a load of shit to serve up as a first single, and the old live b-sides cop out eh? Didn't he already release 'WDYFOFY' on the Boy Racer single. Gradually the music gets worse, the concerts become more cabraet (hence the tons of Smiths songs) the waist line expands and the quiff will receed.I once loved you Moz and have travelled far and seen you 53 times, but now enough is enough, you don't need need my money anymore I'm sure....You just need to think of your fans once in a while who got you those millions in the first place putting you on the pedastool.

  • So the Smiths didn't make the cut to the Rock n Roll hall of fame. I suppose that argument a few months back about this was all for NOTHING!

    Read on:

A panel of 600 industry figures selected the five acts to be inducted [to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame] at the annual ceremony, to be held March 10 in New York. This years inductees are:

Madonna John "Cougar" Mellencamp The Ventures Leonard Cohen The Dave Clark Five

Acts that could have made it, but didn't make the cu include The Stooges, Tina Turner, Mary Wells, Beastie Boys, Afrika Bambaataa, Chic, Donna Summer, Bon Jovi, The Smiths, Run DMC, The Cure, Depeche Mode, KISS and Black Sabbath.........
