do musicians usually have mini-concerts at a press conference? and what's up with having the drama of a press conference? i mean, it's not like he is going to announce his retirement...lol...um....

Press conferences by singers or groups are usually for 2 things. Either to announce their retirement (which never lasts long) or to announce a deal with a new company, in which case they are organised by the record company.

Too bad my early 90s'VCR gave out (signaling nothing and nobody is eternal) and I don't have any other recording device - except my brain. Well, that might do it, for the mean time, at least.

I have one preferred ticket for Moz in Hollywood the nights of October 2, 4, 5, 9, 11, & 12. I ordered the "featured" 10 pack of tickets discussed on true-to-you.net, but I cannot attend all nights (due to work, etc.). This ticket will allow you to go into the venue FIRST, even though it is a GA concert (they are a special edition printing only for people who ordered the 10 pack--a cool souvenir of the concert). I'm not trying to make tons of $$ on these tickets...I'm just trying to re-coup my costs ($50 for each show).

Morrissey will annouce his resigning with Warner Bros, parent company of Sire Records, The Smiths & his former U.S. label. Also, the release of a two disc solo career greatest hits package, The Smiths box set and remastered Smiths albums. Finally, a few more European dates culminating with a string of London & Manchester dates before years end.
