I never knew he was his fan, how interesting and how small the (pop) world is... I had a Colombian friend in Brazil, called Camilo (weird, nice Camilo), who loved Iggy Pop. I can still recall him showing me Iggy Pop's LPs in the record store as if he was showing me a collection of precious jewels... He also gave me for some strange reason the first Smiths album. I think he believed that, at 32 (I was 21), he was dying of cancer (his hair was gone for a while - and then when it began growing suddenly back again, he said "I wanted you to see me with hair). Ah! memories! Now I know the biggest advantage of growing older... you get filled with little stories...I can take a trip to my local library now, and gather those kids, and teach them a thing or two on pop history... :)

this stresses me out. because i have met iggy pop, and he comes up to my knees practically. I have, however, never met THE MAN. i had always hoped against hope he was taller than me. crude throwback to gender issues for me, but dammit - just how tall is moz?

I was at both Stooges shows in San francisco and they were the best damn shows I have seen in a long, long time. Iggy puts all the old geezers to SHAME!!!! Even Jello Biafra was up on stage pogo-ing during "No Fun", along with all the other kids! this is a great photo!

I went with two of my friends to the concert on Monday. Man...I wish I could have ran into Morrissey!

I remember reading some very very early Morrissey's writings to NME where he was dissing Iggy. But hey, this was approx. 20 years ago!
But it has got to be said: Iggy is only good for 2 albums: "The Idiot" and "Lust For Life". And "Raw Power" of course. But everything else has been shit. He has released WAY too many mediocre albums like Brick By Brick, Skull Ring, etc.
And yes, iggy looks like a prune these days. Surely there are some face-fillers available these days?
Get "Idiot" and "Lust For Life" and "Raw Power" - otherwise forget the man.

I've always thought it would be wonderfull if Morrissey covered Iggy's "5 Foot 1". Imagine him singing: "All the night I'm working in the amusement park, with a bottle of aspirin a sack full of jokes I wish I could go home with all the big folks. I wish live could be, Swedish magazines", it would be such a nice song. Much better then the covers he played the last years.

Iggy is so skinny Moz looks a bit bloated again.

sorry, but don't know if Moz is aware but I read comments that on Iggy's radio show - Iggy slagged off Moz saying people say Smiths & Moz were one of the last great bands but that Moz was just a closet gay etc etc.

I didn't think that iggy Pop would be of great influence to Morrissey, musically.Probably in some other ways perhaps.However Morrissey looks gorgeous in the picture. i really like it.
