  • I saw a white/hispanic(?)guy with a hat get pummelled buy three hispanic guys over one of the shirts Moz threw towards the back of the right side (Morrissey's left) of the pit. The guy with the hat caught a good piece of the shirt and the three other guys (apparently all friends) were violently punching and hitting the lone guy with the hat. As a Mexican, I'm ashamed of these actions by other latinos. These dispicable cowards ganging up on one guy by himself are what makes us look bad. Did they forget they're at a Morrissey show? Did anyone catch this one video? I want to expose these low-lifes.

Other than that, AMAZING show as usual!

  • We're shooting our short film “This Night Has Opened My Eyes” and we’re looking for extras.

If you’d just like to come and hang out as an extra when we shoot a club sequence at The Smell in Downtown LA on Sunday February 4th at 10 AM located at:

247 S. Main St. (Cross Street Between Second Street and Third Street, entrance in the Alley) Parking should be easily available on Sunday morning. ...just send us a message. It’s not a paying gig but we’ll feed you, give you a copy of the completed film and we’ll be raffling Morrissey and Smiths prizes (T-shirts, albums, etc.). We’ll have music and it’ll be a great place to meet Moz fans (if you weren't up early enough to get tickets for the show).

Just send us a message if you want more information and we'll put you on our contact list. Or forward this on to a friend who might be interested.

  • I've been a fan for years but never had the chance to go to a Morrissey concert. I had all the CD's, read articles and interviews, seen pictures and videos. But Thursday was my first time ever being in a crowd of Morrissey fans. I can't tell you guys what a touching experience it was for me. To see my raza, my people, whose lives have been touched by Morrissey in the same way. As a proud Mexican man in my twenties, I can honestly say I have rarely seen anything bring my people together the way Morrisey does.

Thank you guys on Thursday for being there to make my first Morrissey concert that much better. I'm just glad he didn't play "I Know It's Over" or I might have broken down...

  • I went Thursday and today, Moz talked more Thursday but today the crowd was way more into it tonight! Plus the playlist was switched around , I liked First of the gang to die better than daddy's voice for the encore. Great opening with how soon is now! MOZ was more sarcastic today but it was funny addressing the crowd as St Louis and talking about how wonderful Pasadena is with Rite Aid and when the crowd started chanting Morrissey he said " What are you saying Misery" ! Also saw Rob Shiender outside taking picutes of the Morrisey posters , He said he really enjoyed the show! All and all great night and experience I will never forget!

  • Some notes (Score:2, Informative)

From my perspective, it seemed that the crowd was a little more enthusiastic on Thursday night, but the crowd was still pretty good last night. I think the current set list is a bit more successful than on the Quarry Tour, during which I noticed a lot of people sitting in their seats, etc. "Irish Blood, English Heart" and "Everyday Is Like Sunday" seemed to be the crowd favorites. No one got on stage last night. I could only see one guy possibly trying it. Morrissey threw out three shirts again. He was hit in the head by some flying flowers and also batted a blown-up condom back into the audience, which he seemed to find funny.

About Julia: He started talking to Julia and said, "Julia, how do you feel about the booing?" to which she replied something like, "People can do whatever they want, we're just here to support you." Morrissey really looked like he thought that was funny. There was some more booing and Morrissey said, "As always, Julia is right. And if you boo, you're just jealous jealous jealous jealous JEALOUS!" This got a lot of laughs.

About the Super Bowl: "And as for tomorrow, my pick is the Denver Omelettes."

At one point, he said, "I am Chester Bennington."

I noticed that Morrissey has changed the lyrics in Life Is a Pigsty from "Every second of my life, I have only lived for you" to the more grammatically correct, "...I have lived ONLY for you."

  • I was sitting Orch RC Row W, and let me tell you that Im TRULLY DISAPPOINTED! Never had I been to a moz gig and seen soo many lame ass "fans" than last night, on and off I would notice about 10-15 fuckers SITTING DOWN!! I was this close to actually taking a picture of them, as Id managed to sneek in my digi, and post the pictures up on this site to shame them looser! Its a travisty of justice to see ANYONE sitting down at a moz gig. But, it wasnt only over in my section, I can see way over yonder to the pit, and noticed NOT ONE ATTEMPT to take the STAGE! WTF is that about? Morrissey literally beg you fuckers in the pit to jump on stage during Everyday Is Like Sunday, for you to fail and seize such an invation should mean a full return of your "Im a Morrissey fan member card". I dont give a fuck but, IF Id of gotten pit, youd of seem my fat ass up on stage shaking Morrissey hand, what a waste. Ive been going to Moz gigs since the Kill Uncle Tour and never ever, NEVER had a I seen such a DEAD crowd. Cant blame it on the setlist, reguardless if some of the songs were on the "slow" side, its an unspoken rule that you dont sit down at a Moz gig. I mean, my whole section, was a joke, hardly nobody dancing, barely some singing, you could only hear some poor fuckers like my self, yelling out for Moz when the Morrissey Morrissey Morrissey chants would launch.
Morrissey did his bit but ,the crowd didnt deliver. Shit, as I knew all the fuckers in my section payed the 91.48 per ticket, Id of thought people would of gone all out.

Jay, it was very cool to see you before the gig, didnt see anyone else from the site, saw the ususal suspect JoseR M. from Hooligans chatting up a gaggle of 17yr old chicks out in the front by the gates before the gig. Funny bit, as I was adjusting my digi before "inspection" there were two other random fuckers doing the same thing.

Thank you Moz for such a great performance on your part. Next time have the crew fill the central airconditing with some sort of "happy air"

*WTF was up with the Merch. I get there around 8:45 and there was no XL shirts, no belt buckles as Id been told they had, no tour programs. And a wopping $35 clams for a Tshirt? Sorry Moz, but, I gave a tenner to the bootleg Tshirt cunts outside and score an almost identical shirt to your $35s.

As for those dudes in the crowd fighting over a t-shirt. As I was leaving last night I saw a small group of them still fighting over it and I think a police officer ended up taking it away. How horrible. All in all for the shows, Im glad that I finally made to a Morrissey show that wasnt cancelled. I would have been devastated to have driven from Stockton all by my lonesome to have found out he had grown ill again. Thanks to those around me for keeping me company every night and allowing my Morrissey experience truly amazing. Highlight was definately 'William, it was Really Nothing' and 'Panic'.

  • leaving Los Angeles, I commented to my friends in the car as we drove past the Hollywood sign, how I imagined Morrissey, this sunny Sunday morning, going out to breakfast, sitting somewhere in some quiet tucked-away crevice in LA. when i said i could imagine him maybe even ordering coffee today, instead of tea, one of my friends protested, "No, my Morrissey doesn't drink coffee and he doesn't go out for breakfast" Her comment made me realize how Morrissey is like that depache mode song. Each of us has "Our Own Personal Morrissey." just as we can each have our 'own personal Jesus' should we so choose. We then took turns describing what each of our own personal Morrsseys was doing this particular beautiful sunny Sunday. a Sunday in no way "silent or gray." When someone said that their Morrissey never gets up before 1:00 pm because that's when the fog has maybe cleared a bit in Manchester (irregardless of what city, country or continent he might be on) another of us said that their Morrissey has become a morning-person, during his time living in LA. the morning sunlight should not be missed.
anyway, here are a few of my initial observations about the Pasadena, Feb 3 show. it was fab!!!!! flowers were confiscated at security checkpoint going in, but a few glads made it through. a couple of inflated condoms were bounced around, and when one actually got close to Morrissey he gave it a swat and it went back into the crowd. then it disappeared and was not seen again. wow, what a cool memento: a condom with Morrissey's fingerprints on it. yum.
a friend that went with us who was seeing Moz for the first time enjoyed the show. at the end she commented about how it seemed he had flirted with everyone in the theatre. and then looking at the priest poster in the lobby she said, "I think one secret of his appeal is that he swings both ways." I laughed. that phrase sounds like something from the 50s. it was the same phrase I had been thinking when we were viewing the James Dean screen tests that were shown before Morrissey and the band came on stage. Morrissey does seem to be paying attention to the ladies more these days. at the end when they came out together for bows he did a sort of mime routine with Kristeen Young. He seems to have fun with the women around him, Julia and Kristeen included. But at the same time he so obviously smoulders with other sexual innuendo directed at the male anatomy. all of it together makes a spicy sexual cocktail.
back to My Own Personal Morrissey--one of my friends in the car on the way back said "my Morrissey doesn't work out." Another person in the car who hadn't gone to the concert (my hubbie actually) said "well, how does he look when he takes his shirt off? is he attractive to look at?" I blurted my answer out first "well, if you're already in love with him, then he looks delicious. "
my friend who was seeing Moz for the first time is a "local" she's lived in Hollywood for the last 6 years. when Morrissey made the comments about there being a special private party later at the botanical gardens, she howled with laughter. she said it was a reference to some gorgeous private estate that is exclusivly exclusive. I loved that whole comment. it's part of Morrissey's appeal. he stands there and seems to be inviting the whole crowd over somewhere to meet him alone. I think this is part of Morrissey's borrowing from a past life. it is like the madam who invites special gentlement customers to see a private dancer, but when the john is going to the place he doesn't know what will await him there. a dark eyed beauty or a black-eyed thug. sex and danger. so Morrissey. when Morrissey teases his audiences with these comments to "come on over and see me later at this spot..." it evokes the same feelings in me. last comment I made about Morrissey's physique and exercise: He is doing a lot of heavy lifting already, carrying that big brain around all the time.

They said Bob Ekin at the top, had a #1 logo with 'Triumph' across it and at the bottom it said Los Angeles. On the sleeve was #32 (they were all the same.) Sounds like a motorcycle dealership??? For the encore, they changed shirts, but I couldn't read them. They were black with something written in white across the chest. The gong read 'Don't cry for me, Pasolini.' Moz's shirts were, I believe: black, burgandy, purple, and either white or a pale pink- it was a four shirt night! It seemed that the first two nights had warmed him up and the whole night was like an encore- he was so comfortable with the crowd. He was already rolling around on the stage during the first song! The crowd was great- I don't know what these people are talking about. In the front was the pit area. I would have loved to be up there, but the guards were pretty serious. I danced in the aisle all night long. Aside from having my flowers confiscated and being sent back to my seat by security a few times, and no good merchandise on sale, it was awesome! Girlfriend in a Coma was lovely. He totally rocked out on 'I just want to see the Boy happy.' The batos went nuts during 'Ganglord.' 'First of the Gand to Die' was the perfect encore- it's a love song dedicated to Los Angeles and the Angelinos, and they responded to that. I've seen Moz four times on four different tours, and last night was the best!

  • Did anyone happen to get the bit of Moz's shirt with the tag on it? I'd like to know what kind of shirts he wears. So I can get a few for my fella.
    Thanks.

  • half an hour? you must have been quite late or can not tell time very well. poor thing.
the show was great to some despite past 'greatness measurement' from you. living in the past or the 'good ole days' is rather sad, so try to move forward and remember to live in the moment as you may get more out of it.
also, music or any art form is completely subjective, so your idea of good or bad will differ from others, but of course you knew that, right?
the "big hand" is for minutes, by the way.
