Do I hear the scraping of the barrel? More live b-sides that we can easily live without. And I am a die-hard fan, so I can not imagine this single getting into the charts. Morrissey should have the decency to include the sound of cash registers ringing as an intro to each single. Does anyone remember the days when we looked forward to new singles, with b-sides too good to believe? Perhaps I should collapse onto my pile of Cure, Smiths, and early Moz 12" and ask myself why do singles now have weak songs and even worse covers. ACTON

The B-Sides aren't bad at all. A new song - lovely, and B-sides that are clearly rendered to a fan's liking. Maudlin Street!! Let's be honest, who saw that coming? It's a toast to memories and a signal that Moz knows many of us have been around the block.

I think it's all positive. Let's assume there are no other new songs from the ROTT sessions aside from this one. So we get that. Maybe it's great?!

It's a new Moz single that gives us hopefully great live tracks of songs we hold dear.

I Want The One I Can't Have was the opener at that gig and therefore a nice way to crank up the volume the remember the excitement. As well as walking around pretending to be Morrissey at the start of a show....

Just me on that one then.

Rubbish choice of single, but maybe a great new song (it's happened before) and a lovely choice of live B-sides, even if we will have to blow dust off the turntable. They'll be downloadable here within an hour anyway...

Imagine if we'd been this bitchy in 1994.... He releases The More You Ignore Me with one (great) B-side in the shape of I'd Love To and A SONG THAT WAS ON THE DAMN FORTHCOMING ALBUM (Sweet Boy).

                      Times have improved!

                      I'll buy it.

Virtually EVERY Smiths cover was a work of art. 'Strangeways...' maybe being the exception. The original Harvey Keitel photo would have made a far greater cover.

Morrissey's early solo covers worked brilliantly in establishing Morrissey as a visual icon, very much an object of beauty.
But....somewhere around 'Southpaw Grammar' it all started going wrong. The cover for 'Southpaw...' is appalling, but worse was to come. 'Maladjusted' came housed in the most uninspiring cover ever! Awkward poise and atrocious pullover. Around the same time came the sleeve for the live video 'Introducing Morrissey' which features, in my opinion, the worst photograph of Morrissey EVER!!!! A photo in which he looks...dare one say it...ugly!
The absolute low-point must have been the 'Dagenham Dave' cover though, with the appalling artwork and the crappy photo of Terry Venebales. Where did it all go wrong?

His recent artwork hasn't been bad. All the sleeves for the YATQ and ROTT albums and accompanying singles have been okay.

But why should we accept 'okay' from an artist whose artwork had once been MERCURIAL?
