If you will recall, he was photographed holding an umbrella whilst Morrissey rested upon a motor-bike.

There has been a great deal of vitriol posted about Jed. Factually, he used to hang out with Jane's Addiction and maybe Porno for Pyros (?)

This is definitely not news. He is a photographer and a relative to Fonzy (Winkleman?)

It annoys me beyond belief that when Morrissey is finally being allowed to move on by the Media from these ridiculous statements that he is a racist that people here, so called fans, would try and bring it up again.

The only "sinister" aspect of this whole non-story is the fact that uncleskinny has blown this up to cause trouble for Moz because Moz's legal team censured skinny for posting that "click track" thing that Mike Joyce was trying to peddle on ebay.

Uncle Skinny simply scanned what was on the page after I requested to see it (as I couldn't quite picture what was being described). The text hadn't appeared on any previous reproductions of that same image.

The news item could've done without the "disturbing" reference and simply presented the info, but really, all that knee-jerking and you'll hurt yourself.

Just in case you are interested Sanctuary are now aware that this is a main news story on the site and are looking in to it. I doubt very much if they will be impressed with such a potentially inflammatory story being posted and given creidibility.

This item is nothing more than Moz having a giggle by creating a little moniker for Jed Weitzman to use as a photo credit. Morrissey has done this in the past with himself (Ann Coats, Alf Button) and here, he apparently continues the grand tradition.

Actually, if this photo was in fact taken by Jed Weitzman, wouldn't Jed have had to give Morrissey permission to use it in a promotion piece like this? Perhaps even proof the ad before submission? If so, then Jed is probably in on the joke.

If the NME felt there was any chance that this advert would cause offence to jews in general, the ad would have been pulled off the press faster than a rolling bagel.

Firstly this has done the NME a huge favour amongst the ranks of Morrissey fans; who went out and bought their copy (or at least stood in the newsagents reading one) to check it wasn't a photoshop? And all after I'd successfully given up paying £2 per week for drivel about emo and 'happening' new indie bands (that are depressingly younger than me and all have the same hair).

Secondly we're all a bit pathetic (myself included) for getting so worked up about something hidden (though not very well) at the bottom of a picture. Who knows what it means; who knows anything when it comes to Morrissey? Apart from the fact that he's an intelligent, funny, compassionate, rational individual with just as much capacity to be an amazing human being, or a complete bastard, as the rest of us. But I'll always see him as the former: a) because the image remains in my head of the bookish, shy boy who saved my life with words and b) because I don't know him and can therefore love him unconditionally.

The phrase 'mountains out of molehills' springs to mind and I hope that Sanctuary (and indeed the man himself) say nothing about this, because there's no need. And those who brought up the racism issue should just think about how their tendency to leap on everything creates issues where none exist. It reminds me of the Raymond Luxury Yacht sketch from Monty Python, where Graham Chapman's character is wearing a large polystyrene nose just to get on TV.

I'm trying to figure out the picture inserted er, between his legs, and the writing. AK1OUR, is what I read? Something tour perhaps? Is that a cloudy sky or a bomb blast? Is someone familiar with that logo or is it another foreign body?

We know from the TTY picture that the extras haven't been in it since it was presented there quite some time back. So it's specific to the promotional flyer for this leg of the tour, and maybe even more specific to the NME version. In the forum discussion someone posted a comprehensive list of what skull-cap can mean. It can be any tight-fitting skull-hugging hat, or even the top of the skull itself, anatomically. It can mean a type of tree, or a herb that is used to calm the nerves. Some type of limestone is referred to as skull-cap, and armoury. Figuratively it can mean the person in charge over the whole scenario. So let's slow down, it's probably just an in-joke. Even if Jed has been enjoying himself aplenty!

I'm just wondering how this really reflects anything about Morrissey what-so-ever? Is he responsible for assembling his own advertisements? Do you think he sits in his study on the computer at night on photoshop working on how to place "Jed Skullcap" just so?

I guess maybe he could've called up the NME himself and said "Hey guys, could you please credit this photo to Jed Skullcap"?!?!" but I really don't get how anyone would think he is in charge of any of this?!

I know he's not a huge fan of Sanctuary at the moment, but SURELY they have enough employees that Morrissey isn't in charge of his own advertisements!!!!!
