                                                at least not this second
                                                today you'll try
                                                a little Candour...
and you'll speak from the heart
                                                yours, that is
(for half a minute or so)
(you'll really try to let yourself go.)

                                                Long ago you decided
                                                you'd always lick
                                                your hate stick
                                                yourself.

Because when there is no more ice you can't swim
when it's nice and easy and cool and jolly
on a beach where there's no tsunami
and no one dies, wants to kill their daddy or mummy
or puts sand in sandwiches, you have to invent tragedy

And that's what has me in stitches

Only today, no, or maybe a minute ago?

                                                He amuses children so

                                                Like an old lollipop lady...

                                                licks licks licks
                                                hurts
                                                regrets
                                                hurts again

and then on a full belly asks Jesse

                                                and lick lick lick.
like an old man in Limerick.

And you're no longer in favour.
