Stylish Moz, Gaz's specs, menacing Boz, Mikey's backing vocals, Brooding Jesse, and is that Matt? Great video, but I can't help thinking this has slipped out in the way the leaks did, it looks like an unclipped unfinished item, but then, it is out there, so we should enjoy it. By the way, that audience surely has to have been sliced from Eurovision 1974 or something, unless they paid several hundred to dress in kipper ties and flares.

yeah, that timecode in all the audience shots comes when you buy stock footage. the production company then selects the footage and orders it from the stock house. the stock house then releases a beta or digital source of the stock without timecode to be recut into the final product.

so in english.... this is either an unfinished product or it's a gimmick to keep the unpurchased stock shots with timecode.

Here we go again. Another desperately poor, cheaply made video. WHEN are we going to see a slick video produced, behind which has been a reasonable budget, or at the VERY LEAST an idea? I am sick and tired of seeing the same, turgid performance. This is the IBEH video, without a real studio audience and some fancy video effects to age it. I've watched it twice, and can safely say I'll never want to watch it again.

Morrissey fans don't need to see a video to buy the music. So the video must be aimed at the casual/new Morrissey record buyer. This tosh won't persuade anyone new to buy the single. They'll buy it due to liking the song - the video adds NOTHING extra to it.

I immediately think of the Keane video for 'Everybody Changes'. I'm no Keane fan, but the video is superb, must have cost pennies, and drew in a new audience. Even I could come up with a better concept than the garbage I've just witnessed.

Dear God, please help Morrissey find an inspirational video producer.

Obviously Moz suggested or agreed to a Eurovision theme but this doesn't really do that - aside from the audience shots which are quite funny. It looks like a live Jools Holland or Top Of The Pops perfrormance and this is meant to be the FIRST AND VITAL SINGLE?

    Pathetic.

I can see the joke, yes, but it isn't given the opportunity to work.

Also, the BBC broadcast in 16:9 widescreen now, so this video will appear in a box within the screen.

No humour, no style, no relevance to the song. It's a dreadful, dreadful video and that's that.

  • The video reminds me of a boring version of the "Sing Your Life" video. They tried to capture the same thing as they did with the Sing Your Life Video. However, it doesn't work here. The Sing Your Life video caught a glimpse of the 50's scene. This video tries to capture the 70's scene and poorly achieves it.

If there going to have a budget of only one hundred dollars then they shouldn't even bother with a video. The whole band playing scene is tiresome.

Here I am complaining again, I must not be a Morrissey fan. I should just be saying "Hail to the almighty MOZ" that would make most of you happy.

It does seem like he smirks right after looking at Alain - it's probably absolutely hilarious to him to look back and see Alain sitting at the drums! :P

A few weird things that struck me about the video and they 'mysterious' uploading of it to Google:

1)I noticed that the stock footage at the end has the letters and numbers reversed (a mirror image) which is kind of weird. Anyone think they're leaving the timestamp in there on purpose, to give it that retro, unfinished look? I think so, but it could just be an unfinished thing.

2)Google lists the video as the "You Have Killed Morrissey" video. Ha!

3)The person who uploaded the video spelled Morrissey's name wrong ('Morrisey') which is kind of weird. It's just a little summary sentence which says it's Morrissey's new uncut video. Look at the bottom right after you load and start playing the video.

I wonder who leaked it who would've made all of those semantic errors. Weird eh?

(I bet it was Jesse. I have it on very good authority that he still misspells Morrissey's name! LOL)

He is facing a different audience, here, to the point it was funny to me: at the end of the show, instead of the cheers, and arms up, a very composed audience, like the one you see in operas and classical music concerts. I had to laugh at the end, because it was clear Morrissey's face told he felt pleased, but awkward playing to such a moderate public. His outfit is not neff, it is divine, he is simply looking gorgeous, having lost that slighlty puffy look he had while here in the States. I'm sorry to seem so materialistic, but oh, God he's so handsome...
