I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue is an incredibly long-running radio comedy show in which comedians of a more noble vintage are "given silly things to do". In this week's show the round "One song to the tune of another" boasts the sound of Tony Hawks singing "Girlfriend In A Coma" to the tune of "Tiptoe Through The Tulips" (a novelty song written in 1929, made a hit in the sixties by Tiny Tim). Against all the odds he turns it into something quite special!

You can hear it by following the link on this page (it's about ten minutes into the show).

All in good fum, it also highlights the humour of Morrissey's lyrics that often goes unnoticed.

  • He lives near me in Wimbledon. I saw him perform at the 'Piano Lounge' not so long ago.
He was in 'Morris Minor and the Majors'. One of the others in the group goes to my running club.
Gosh, don't I mingle with the stars!

    • This show is repeatedly the funniest thing on radio. Humphrey Littleton comperes it with Julian and Sandy in mind. When Willie Rushton (God Bless His Soul) was still alive, Humphrey said the following: "Well, the panel tonight are wearing rather fetching skin-tight swimming trunks, and I must say Willie's are particularly outstanding". Brilliant.

  • it's not that easy to follow, but it is a fun, intelligent program.
I have a couple of episodes on mp3, which feature the great Stephen Fry.

Didn't know it was broadcast on the world wide web (I should visit the BBC site more).
