Was at the show at the legendary Troubadour in west Los Angeles tonight (Feb. 10).

Enjoying the sets of The Zutons; The Shore and The Peels.

I just happen to look up in the VIP balcony area and I shockingly spot THE MOZ himself! He appeared to be kicking back and enjoying the Zutons set quite a bit. I happen to mention to the bartenderess and she already knew he was there!

After The Zutons wrap their set I see the lead singer of The Shore went and introduced himself. Then the Moz and lady friend stay seated after pretty much everybody are clearing out.

I some get the courage to head up the balcony and some how get through. I nervously I say hello and we shake hands. I was numb. He was quite cordial and we chat for a bit and have to ask if he was planning any new tour dates, he said he working on such matters and would have to see how things work out. I was melting...

Boy what a surprise and just made my evening! I'm still in awe and surely wont wash that hand for weeks!!!!

Thanks Moz for making my night/week/year!!!

  • It was at the Cat & Fiddle in Hollywood. April, 2003. His grip had no bone structure, whatsoever. He was really dissapointing and it only got worse from there. Although he was nice enough to spend a few seconds with me in conversation, I sensed he was incredibly high-maintenance to be around. When Boz arrived I wanted to meet him as well, but I thought why bother. Now I know how Woody Allen felt when he finally met his idol Groucho Marx... it's better to leave your heroes alone on their pedestals.

It's Feb 11 2:23pm As I'm writing this. How did you time travel?

  • Just a tibit....the pre-show music featured "Why Don't You Find Out For Yourself". It's always a pleasant surprise to hear a Moz song while out. The Zutons were interesting, not too sure the crowd here in Philadelphia were feeling them, though.

My faith in love is still devout.
  • I had both events... the sighting and the brief conversation, etc.

It had to be him.. otherwise he has been cloned or that was the BEST impersonator I've seen in my life!

So for him to be out the area at that time is incorrect (there is plane travel now people). It had to been him.

    As well:

    1) I have no reason to lie. Just relaying the FACTS as they happened.

    2) Approximately 10-15 people, as well as the security staff of the Troubadour escorted him in and out. Several people had cameras and he took snaps with them and of him. 2 girls (one with a manchester united shirt on) went to where he was and got pics and an autograph. Maybe those pics will surface??

    3) You are welcome to call the Troubadour in Los Angeles and the staff could confirm he was there. I could even get the bartendress to write you an avidavid that she saw him.

    4) The show was on Feb 10, not Feb 11. Check the club's calendar!

    http://www.troubadour.com/EventCalendar.htm

The posting time was by the webmaster not when I sent it. I sent it to this site about 1a or so when I got back on the morning of. I sent it off to this site soon after I got home. But nice try Perry Mason wannabe!!

    5) The singer of The Shore went to where he and this woman was sitting and chatted with him. Why not try to reach him/the band to confirm that? Also the The Peels where there maybe email them and ask them since they would have probably known he was there as well!

So with that why don't you try to check things out before starting to call honest fans liars!!

Nor do I care if people believe or not. I know what happened.

    Pathetic...

  • the Troubadour consistently gets some of the best up and coming artists to be booked in an under 500 venue. it's not surprising at all that a super celeb would show up there.

i think that's where the Healers had their record release party and he showed up at that as well.

the VIP balcony is not hard to access. the door man hands out VIP passes randomly to show attendees and they are pretty casual about letting people up there and the VIP bar as well. especially if at least one of you has a pass.

  • I think that the Troub is his favorite place. I met Moz (and Alain) there up on the balcony about four years ago during the Snake River Conspiracy show. They were both really nice...

  • I got to the Troub. without any tickets. I knew the show was sold out but, got at the box office anyway to atleast ask and see if I could score a ticket. As I waited in line I asked a few people passing by or inline if they had one extra tix they might wanna sell me but, no luck. There was one couple in front of me at the box office window trying to get their tix they had been promiced by knowing one of the members of the zutons. The guy was told that only he could get in and not his guest. So the guy got mad and tried to shove the one ticket back to the box office girl when his Japanes girlfriend says to him " give it to the girl in back she needs just the one ticket" so he gave it to me along with the VIP sticker. So I drive home (5mins away from The Troub) got dressed and smoked some weed and got a cab to the gig.
As I walked in I noticed my chance to get to the front of the stage was slim. So I chilled in the back. As I scoped out the place I noticed this man and lady sitting all alone in the very VIP area that was reserved only for the two of them. I thought I was too high, and thought about returning the very strong kronic my mate had just sold me, when I noticed that Morrissey himself was at the same gig I was. I know I shouldnt ave but, I kept looking up to where he was sitting just to see if it was him. I took a couple of bad pictures from a far but, I didnt care. As the Zutons came out I thougth to myself "he (moz) isn't gonna stay for the whole gig and risk being mobbed by fans after the gig. He's leaving by the fourth or fith song." So I was gonna make a dash for the one and only entrance/exit the place has as soon as I saw him get up from his seat and meet him down the stairs. Well, to my surprice, he stayed the whole gig. The drummer then announced their final song and I dashed over to the bottom of the stairs. I saw a girl with a moz patch and decided to chat with her. We then both decided to go upstairs and TRY and meet him, I knew the chances were slim since Id seen the singer from The Shore try and get Mozs' attention and failed badly to do so. Any way, we talked to the burly "Hells Angeles" looking guy and conviced him to "ask" Moz if it was ok for us two to get an autograph. To our GIANT surprice Moz said "yes".
I couldn't believe it, I was standing only inches from Moz. Id met him before on 9/13/93 but, I dont know I guess I felt more confident in approaching him because I had my trusty camera with me. I made eye contact with him and he smiled. I dont remember all we said as it all goes a bit bbbblllluuuurrrrry
In no specific order; but, Moz noticed my Oasis shirt and said their both (Liam and Noel0 nice lads. I said "yeah I love em they're from Manchester (I pointing to my red Manchester jumper) so then Moz replyed "Yeah, All good things come from Manchester" and smiled I agreed with him. I told him Id gone to see him at his final L.A. gig in Nov. of last year and told him Id heard Liam and Noel were at his gig in awe of his performance that night. He said "realy?, I hear they have a really good album out in May this year." I said "yeah" I asked if I could have my picture taken with him and he said yeah, put his arm round me and smiled. I also told him Id met him years before outside Book Soup whilst Johnny "The Rat" Rogan did a signing for the "Sevared Alliance" he remeberd that cos he said he was with an old mate of his, "Jake". (true he was)I gave him a strong hand shake and he did the same. I told him "I know youve gotten this one a million times but, here goes a million and two, Ive been a fan of yours since your Bona Drag record and ....your music means soo much to me today as it did when I was a very lonely teenager". He shyfully said "No, you dont mean that" I said "I do and thank you"
Oh he also signed my Manchester jumper.(In between all this was the girl that I met.) I have the pictures if anyone wants to see it email me at
    [email protected]
I dont know how to post it on this site.

How was the Zutons gig? I guess it was ok. Moz kinda took over the night from the moment I saw him upstairs chuggin Heinikens.
Big THX too the guy and his gf for hooking me up with the tix and ViP pass.

You're not down with who I am but, look at you now you're all in my hands...tonight I'm a Rock N' Roll Star!!
  • Besides David and the girls at Morrisseytour I guess I can add the guy from The Shore to my one degree of separation relations(meetings) to Morrissey. The Shore were pretty good when I saw them here in Tucson and bought them all a round of drinks for a shirt and a CD.
I mostly wanted the shirt because of the Dead Milkmen song "Bitchin' Camero"..."yeah, I think I'm gonna go down to The Shore/whatcha gonna do there?/oh, play some video games, buy some Def Leppard shirts...."
So what are YOUR one degree relations? Besides make-up counter girls, hotel workers, etc...
