We'll get there in the end.

I can seed this torrent from 9am til 5pm (UK time) every day until it's done. I might be able to squeeze a few more hours in but I can guarantee the eight hours.

Now, for torrent beginners. It's not as complicated as it sounds.

First thing to do is download the .torrent file from lokitorrent or BNBT tracker. If you can't see it when you search for Morrissey make sure you tick the "any status" box. On BNBT you right click on DL and save target as. On lokitorrent you have to click on the little floppy disc symbol. This will save the .torrent file on to your hard drive

That's step one and that applies to pc and mac users.

Next you need to download some software (called a BT client) to open the .torrent file. There are various ones available and they all do the same job. Try bittornado, bitlord, azureus. mac users should download tomato torrent.

              That's step two

Once you've got the BT software installed on your computer you use it to open the .torrent file just the same as you would open an mp3 or mpeg i.e. double click on the little .torrent icon/file name and the BT software will open asking you where you would like to save your mpeg files. Or open up the BT software and navigate through til you find the .torrent file. There should be a progress bar the same as for a normal download.

That's step three and everything should be working for you now.

The only other thing to remember is that it's best to save the .torrent file and the associated mpegs in the same folder. This is in case you need to disconnect at any time. When you start up the BT software again it will check the folder it's in to see how much of the mpeg you already have. If you've saved the mpegs in a different folder the software won't detect it and will start at 0% again.

A little explanation of how bittorrenting works (as I understand it, anyway) might help.

The seed is the only person with a full deck of cards, so to speak, and every person who downloads from the seed will get a different card from the deck. Person A will get a bit of EILS from me and person B will get a bit of Shoplifters from me but also a bit of EILS from person A and so on and so forth. This speeds the transfer of data up enormously. There may be two downloaders who both have 10% of the transfer but theoretically each of them could have a totally different 10%.

The first time you connect the download will speed along as you'll be downloading segments of the file from every other person in the system. Eventually it'll grind to a halt as everybody will have the same segments except the seed.

Once you have 100% of the file you will automatically become a seed and then try and stay connected to lokitorrent or BNBT as long as you can to keep the transfer going as fast as possible. If you want to be community minded check into lokitorrent every so often and see if any of the torrents you have previously completed have no seeds but there are people still trying to download. All you have to do to be become a seed is to start up the BT software as though you want to download and the software will detect that you already have 100% and make you into a seed. Even if you can only manage an hour of seeding a day it all helps. If you change the name of the files then you can't seed them as the system won't recognise them anymore.

At the moment it appears that there are no seeds but that's because I'm cheating slightly. This video is in four parts so at the moment I'm just making part one available to download so that people will be able to obtain a watchable 'part one' before moving on to part two.

If I've missed anything just give us a holler. Sorry I can't stay connected 24/7 but I will make sure it all gets done eventually.

Meanwhile, if anyone uses soulseek there's a wmv version of the concert available which is obviously not the best quality but watchable. Once the seeding is done I'll have a go at making some version of

(HD) "Ridge Hall computer assistance; may I help you?" (c) "Yes, well, I'm having trouble with WordPerfect." (HD) "What sort of trouble?" (c) "Well, I was just typing along, and all of a sudden the words went away." (HD) "Went away?" (c) "They disappeared." (HD) "Hmm. So what does your screen look like now?" (c) "Nothing." (HD) "Nothing?" (c) "It's blank; it won't accept anything when I type." (HD) "Are you still in WordPerfect, or did you get out?" (c) "How do I tell?" (HD) "Can you see the C:prompt on the screen?" (c) "What's a sea-prompt?" (HD) "Never mind, can you move your cursor around the screen?" (c) "There isn't any cursor: I told you, it won't accept anything I type." (HD) "Does your monitor have a power indicator?" (c) "What's a monitor?" (HD) "It's the thing with the screen on it that looks like a TV. Does it have a little light that tells you when it's on?" (c) "I don't know." HD) "Well, then look on the back of the monitor and find where the power cord goes into it. Can you see that?" (c) "Yes, I think so." (HD) "Great. Follow the cord to the plug, and tell me if it's plugged into the wall." (c) "Yes, it is." (HD) "When you were behind the monitor, did you notice that there were two cables plugged into the back of it, not just one?" (c) "No." (HD) "Well, there are. I need you to look back there again and find the other cable." (c) "Okay, here it is." (HD) "Follow it for me, and tell me it it's plugged securely into the back of your computer." (c) "I can't reach." (HD) "Uh huh. Well, can you see if it is?" (c) "No." (HD) "Even if you maybe put your knee on something and lean way over?" (c) "Oh, it's not because I don't have the right angle - it's because it's dark." (HD) "Dark?" (c) "Yes, the office light is off, and the only light I have is coming in from the window." (HD) "Well, turn on the office light then." (c) "I can't." (HD) "No? Why not?" (c) "Because there's a power failure." (HD) "A power....A Power failure? AHA, Okay, we've got it licked now. Do you still have the boxes and manuals and packing stuff your computer came in?" (c) "Well, yes, I keep them in the closet." (HD) "Good, Go get them, and unplug your system and pack it up just like it was when you got it. Then take it back to the store you bought it from." (c) "Really? Is it that bad?' (HD) "Yes, I'm afraid it is." (c) "Well, all right then, I suppose. What do I tell them?" (HD) "Tell them you're too f**king stupid to own a computer!"

The link at www.lokitorrent.com should be working okay now. I've had to reseed the torrent it so if anyone already has portions of the original torrent this is what you have to do.

1.download the new 'reseed' .torrent file to a DIFFERENT part of your hard drive to the original .torrent file

2.open it up with your BT software

3.let the download start but as soon as the folder (containing four zero kb mpeg files) appears on your hard drive cancel the download.

**BE VERY CAREFUL you don't let these zero kb mpeg files overwrite the files you've already downloaded**

4.replace these zero kb files with the ones you've already downloaded.

5.start up the reseed .torrent file again with the BT software and the download should proceed from 42% or however much you had already completed.

Or continue to use the other site:
