Morrissey's music continues to captivate listeners from all walks of life

Their duration was fleeting -- a mere five years from start to rancorous finish -- and their output, four studio albums, meager. And yet 17 years after the Smiths, the defining British indie-rock band of the '80s, loosed their last acerbic, melancholy gem, the band's influence not only endures but grows wider and deeper.

                With respect to pretty much every other band, the Smiths 4 brilliant albums over 5 years is without question the most complete collection of work ever, i think. Look at The Beetles, yeah there were some great albums but there was some right dross too?
                Oasis, the same, U2 the same.
                The Smiths did not release any dross.

                I can see how easily this painting can confuse, but this is actually a long lost painting of Morrissey's cousin who was brought up by a South American tribe and forced to wear neck rings throughout his formative years.

                As you can see from this painitng, tragically the young mans neck was stretched by the decorative bands to an unusual length. He died in Paris a pauper in 1924 having spent the last years of his life in the last family owned freak show that toured between the capital cities on the continent. But what an exciting find! I am thrilled!

                  over 70 songs in only 5 years time is not what iwould call "meager". The Smiths were one of the most prolific bands in history. also, their catalogue is nearly entirely made up of pure excellence. "meager"? idont think so.

                  of acts going rightnow, the only artist ican think of that has been as prolific as The Smiths were as well as having a catalogue of excellent quality is Ryan Adams. 'Heartbreaker' [2000], 'Gold' [2001], 'Demolition' [2002], 'Rock N Roll' [2003], 'Love Is Hell' [2004] and loads of bootlegs and unreleased material much of which is great.
