FOTGTD DVD single audio tracks

An anonymous person writes:

Bought the DVD single and the CD single of the new single today and just a word of caution for the general moz public, the DVD single will not play the audio tracks on standard CD players.

I am not sure if this is a bug on mine but there is no playback on my pc cd player my home player or my car player.

Caution advised if you are buying it as a cd single assuming the dvd is extra, it appears not to be that way.

Calm down folks, according to Amazon there are THREE versions of the single:

CD1 has FOTGTD/Teenage Dad.../Mexico and all are Audio and can be played on any CD player.

CD2 has FOTGTD and My Life Is A Succession..., again both are Audio.

CD3 is the DVD which CANNOT be played in anything other than a Pal Region2 DVD player.

I just hope all this refunding and faffing about doesn't affect the sales. This could have been a potential Number 1, but all this carry on looks like it could affect it.

I think putting out two longed for studio tracks on a format which won;t play in a CD player, walkman or car stereo is a massive own goal in terms of sales. A lot of fans will just get US import copies of the single and not bother with the UK DVD single. Consequently, sales will be almost halved, and the single will not do som well in the charts.

A better format would have been:

            CD1 - 'My Life Is A Succession...'
CD2 - 'Teenage Dad On His Estate' & 'Mexico'
DVD - With the promo, and a few live clips from the RAH gig, or the MEN gig.

That way the singkle would still be chart-eligible, and everyone would stay happy.

PS - how come so many people assumed that a DVD single _would_ play in a standard CD player? They're completely different formats.
