Morrissey in his own box for the New York Dolls show

Having got over Chrissie Hynde being behind me and Jonathan Ross and David Walliams to my left, it was a greay joy when I saw Moz sitting in the lower box to the left of the stage, at first he tried to stay hidden but once the dolls came on stage he moved into the middle of the box and clapped along merrily. I'm guessing not a lot of people noticed him (dolls included) as when David Johansen asked for 3 cheers for moz, nobody looked to the box to do it. The dolls rocked the joint and their version of "take another little piece of my heart" was fantastic.

It was brilliant! I was transfixed watching my hero watching his heroes!!! It made for a really surreal night and his enjoyment of the night just added to a great gig all round!!!

It was great to see Morrissey enjoying the show - not as a performer but this time as a fan and member of the audience. He was clapping away, nodding his head and getting into it.

As well as Chrissie Hynde, Jonathan Ross and David Walliams I also saw Bobby Gillespie and Bob Geldof in the audience... and at Nancy Sinatra I saw Moz, Mick Hucknall (!) and Julie Burchill.

PS the Dolls were amazing! Syl and David had a great banter going on between them. I was at the front and I touched David Johansen's foot! Rock n roll!! Oh and last night I was dancing in the audience next to Nancy!!!! I am loving Meltdown, three cheers to Morrissey for such a great line up.

She was wearing a long quite expensive looking beige/yellow cardigan/ jacket over a black top and trousers. She started off with Bang Bang my baby shot me down (the first song on Kill Bill 1) and did lots of other numbers including You Only Live Twice (the song Robbie Williams ripped off on Millennium). She sang a song written by Bono and the Edge for her father and dedicated it to him saying "Happy Father's Day. This is for my poppa" and after the song she wiped a tear from her eye. Pure showbiz! She sang a song about her movie career and the screen behind her showed clips of her 60s movies - acting alongside her dad, riding with Peter Fonda on a motorbike and snogging ELVIS! That got an enormous cheer. At the end of the song she said "Yes he was a good kisser!" When she sang "Let me kiss you" the screen showed photos of Nancy and Moz together, it was hugely cheesy but she got away with it. When she started to sing Sugartown she came off the stage and walked along the front of the audience and up the aisle a little bit, shaking hands with the audience and even passing the mike over so people could sing some of the songs! There was lots of applause and people calling out "we love you Nancy" - a warm affectionate reaction from the crowd. Then These Boots are Made for walking started and she indicated that she wanted people to join her so lots of people from the front few rows of the stalls (myself included) got up and were dancing next to her - I was only a few inches away. A guy said to me "Can you believe that Nancy is dancing among us". It was enormous fun, lots of people got up and were clapping, dancing and singing along. She got back onstage and sang a few more numbers. She did I think two encores.

I didn't expect to enjoy the show before I went along as I didn't know much about Nancy other than the fact that she was Frank's daughter and had been in a movie with Elvis. Now she's working with Moz. Well the old girl must have something because not only has she been associated with three of my favourite men she put on a great show that was lots of fun. She is the coolest 64 year old I've seen for a long time.

Hope I filled you in on the details.

John Lydon and another one of the pistols (looked very hard!). The living ones out of the Clash. Luke "Auteurs" Haines. It was celebrity central.

          Gig itself was awesome!
