"Happiness Threatens Morrissey Comeback" -- DeadBrain

Kind of an amusing article from deadbrain.com.

An excerpt:
"He's happy and I don't just mean happy in a not-suicidal way," explained one member of Morrissey's entourage who wished to remain anonymous. "He's like Little Morrissey Sunshine."

        Articles such as these are proof of why Morrissey is so critical and dismissive of many journalists / writers. Once again, "how can anybody possibly know how I feel?"...

        These kind of people should be skinned with ceiling fans - only then will they know what it's like.

              Forgetting the obviously tongue-in-cheek tone of the article (the author must have a grudge with tabloids, or indeed an infatuation with their style), why should Morrissey still be unhappy?

              Who saw him in Manchester? Or in recent interviews? Did he seem the slightest bit unhappy?

              His Joyce/Rourke obsession aside he seems very balanced and at ease. This is not saying that he may have lost his edge (anybody who claims that should just listen to 'Let me kiss you' or 'I have forgiven Jesus', especially live those were 100% Moz), but whereas almost 20 years ago he asked:
              'And when you want to live how do you start, where do you go;
              who do you need to know?'
              Now he is saying 'and I've never felt so alive', and 'at last your life begins'.

              Songs such as 'I have forgiven Jesus' seem to focus on the 'bad old days', and even 'Let me kiss you' has a sort of relaxed-ness about being physically despised. He has still never had no-one ever, but now his 'heart is open to you'.

              You no longer get the despair or (indeed) longing for death. Morrissey has just gotten older, and not necessarily in a bad way. And even if he does write songs about playing with puppies, at least he doesn't put on a depression-extravaganza-show.

              Only seals perform.
