  • The mix of rusty brown brick and silver glass skyscrapers looks too much like Mozchester to be anywhere else....

Has to be Manchester from the view through the window, I would say! Splendid picture - he looks very refined (and slim) here!! Come to think of it, loads of the photos that I've seen in the press have been FAR better than the ugly effort that found its way on to the front of Quarry! I actually prefer the 'Southpaw Grammar' sleeve to that of 'Quarry', though doubtless this will incur the wrath of countless users of this site. Quarry's cover shot is so garish and unnatural - totally lacks the inspiration and tasteful 'indie' feel of even something like the 'Roy's Keen' single sleeve. The interior and back (with tracklisting) are fine but that photo with the tommy gun is vile, actually. Hope he returns to his previously very high artwork standards in future!

  • I have forgiven Rankin :) (for making Morrissey look like the a cross between a leprechaun and your-trendy-geoography-teacher-down-the-school-disco, on the cover of "Maladjusted", of course ...)

This is actualy the side of the Royal Festival Hall building in London.
In the distance is the Shell building and Moz looks like he's looking out towards the Thames.

  • Where was Rankin when artwork was being prepared for YATQ???? Sad to see no photos such as this one made it into the album's booklet or back cover....

  • I use to work in the South Bank Centre. Moz is upstairs in the RFH.

  • The photo is beautiful...the article, it's funny that so many of the authors of various articles seem to feel they need to qualify themselves as moz fans(either they all are or they feel that you need to be to write about him) I like the connection made between Morrissey fan devotion and Grateful Dead fan devotion....I often explain my love for moz's music to my Deadhead friends in terms of their love for Jerry Garcia...the Kurt Cobain connection was wack though...Cobain is vastly overrated and doesn't hold a candle to Morrissey's voice and lyrics or Jerry Garcia's lyrics

  • This should be the sleeve for "I like you" which should be the next single. This photo suggests there is something going on in his wonderful brain. The quarry photo suggests nothing to me.

  • Hi Morrissey! Thank you for showing me the london town, beautifull hall! And there's always the Thames. We live in this time, looking through the window, I'd like to see the same thing Moz, I have to study, tell me about good old England. If you don't, I'll miss the wonderful things in life. I thought this corridor is like a "Ryokan" (Small inn) style!
