From Rolling Stone Magazine Online:

"Prince isn't the only Eighties icon making a huge go of it in 2004, as Morrissey -- following the release of You Are the Quarry, his first album in seven years -- will head out on Lollapalooza. Joining the reclusive crooner will be eccentric Oklahoma rockers the Flaming Lips, their Texan kindred spirits the Polyphonic Spree, Colorado jam band the String Cheese Incident and veteran New York City noise mongers Sonic Youth.
This year's festival will be a two-day event, with additional artists and itinerary to be announced in the next few weeks.

Founded by Jane's Addiction singer Perry Farrell, Lollapalooza launched in 1991 and ran through 1997, featuring such acts as Pearl Jam, Beck and the Beastie Boys. After skipping five years, the tour returned last year with a lineup including a reunited Jane's Addiction, Audioslave and Incubus.

"This summer, Lollapalooza will embody the spirit of the Gypsy!" said the colorfully cryptic Farrell in announcing the tour. "Our buses of artisans sleeping over in each and every city will spread the sense of exhilaration. The days and nights will be filled with mischief."

I wonder how many days of the festival he will play? I'm sure not all of them. He might only hit the big cities. That's good news for the East Coast!
