Thought you'd like to know London's Royal Festival Hall has just issued the following release:

"The South Bank Centre today announces that MORRISSEY, one of music's most enigmatic and influential figures, is the Artistic Director of the twelfth annual MELTDOWN Festival. The celebrated solo artist and former lead singer of THE SMITHS will curate his own festival of events to be staged at London's South Bank Centre from 11 to 27 June 2004."

    I'm looking forward to seeing what he's going to do!

    Re: Morrissey's comments about iPods -- I know he's not some twit living in a straw hut, but given his previous Luddite tendencies, it always gives me a start to hear him comment about things like e-mail and DVD players.

    We may have our iPods and illegal mp3 files, but duh Man's got the influence to make people get up and go to a physical place to listen and observe his music collection on exhibition...and I'm very glad about that!

          About Moz in Loose Angela, England is really getting their kid back full on. What a great idea to finally give Morrissey a context to present all the images, words, and music that have influenced his genius!

            After seven or so years of complete frustration, but hey that's enough about my sex life, seems Morrissey has proved the doubters wrong once again. This is looking like quite the comeback, 'dirty Den' who?
            So it's time to leave the country if you hate him, to us of course it's delightful to see. Talking of meltdowns, watch as the NME come crawling back this year, i can't remember the last time they had a decent interview in their new look glossy rag, not that anybody reads it anymore i'm sure.

            A full Tour TBC! new album! a few interviews i'm sure and what should be a cracking festival all to look forward to.......
