DIFF’RENT DJs are currently recording Morrissey Minors. Subtitled "- the songs of THE SMITHS performed by the stars of the future", it’s an EP of kids singing Smiths songs: William It Was Really Nothing, This Charming Man and How Soon Is Now. Looking at a Spring / Summer release for this epic.

I remember hearing that tibute album to The Queen Is Dead back in late 90's and it was awful, just truly unlistenable. The worst moment was hearing Placebo doing Bigmouth, the acoustic guitar into sounded like a 12 year old playing, all lifeless and wrong, heartbreaking. Just shows how some of those 'star bands' that contributed are extremely lucky to be where they are, so many truly talented artists would love to give a tasteful rendition of those wonderful songs. Even Supergrass, who I usually enjoy listening to, couldn't even hold down a basic take on Marr's beautiful original riff on Some Girls, I mean, come on Gaz Coombes, it's not THAT difficult to play. If you're gonna do it, do the job right or don't bpther. It's sacrilege, by any othe name.
