      "Class" and "Collage" resemble Chris Isaak more so than Morrissey.

      Portraits are difficult to paint.

        I suppose people here have never heard of the saying "If you have nothing nice to say then don't say anything at all" I think it's very nice and you have an exceptional talent.             she has the chin and nose down on some of the paintings/drawings. but she hasn't got the eyes right. or the smile. and Morrissey's smile is just as important as his hair, i think.

            It is a nice picture, but would definitely say that it looks more life Angel from Buffy the Vampire Slayer than out beloved Moz! Though, obviously, I don't agree with those racist sentiments expressed above! They're bizarre!

                I don't agree with these personal attacks on David (See: This Is Terrible) I wrote a long email last night when I got home about how kind David has been to me. I was unable to sumbit it, because I got a formkeys error, common to AOL users who try to use this site. What I said, in essence, is that as a Newbie, I have had many questions. I have emailed David many times...to many, actually. And, he always answers with kindness, candor, and respect. The reponses he has sent me can only come from a person who has a good heart and who is has a high degree of patience. So please, step off, because you are very wrong.

                  I'm not involved in the debate regarding this portrait. The bigger issue for me is that David knew that someone had responded to their own post. Is he sending cookies and/or tracking IP addresses? This is the bigger issue here. Respect anonymity. We already live in a surveillance society and we don't need more of it here.

                    I do like the color and the attractiveness of the portrait...the likeness to the man himself is missing that so well accented chin and the smirk...maybe a very young vampireish Moz is what we have here! Great artist, though.

                                Some people have said that posting anonymously is for pussies. I don't agree. Still, I have chosen not to keep mine hidden...but to disclose every comment I posted. I have apologized to the artist. I have been in touch with David. I am a Newbie to this site. I could go on and on explaining. But I don't owe anyone but myself an accounting...and I can't even figure it out. You will draw your own conclusions. To those who think I am sexist, I am not. Racist, I am not. Homophobic, I am not. I got way too involved in this debate...and it just snowballed. I won't post anymore comments regarding this portrait and the the nuanced debates it has inspired. My goal was not to offend, but to throw out some flamebait, and mostly just to see how this entire process works as a participant. I would be the first to admit that I over did it. But Morrissey fans are forgiving & compassionate...and I think...this was an ascerbic, passionate, intellectual, & compelling discussion.
