The Punt & Dennis comedy radio show "It's been a bad week" yesterday, (19th June), featured a parody of Harry Potter as Morrissey singing a version of what was supposed to be 'Heaven knows I'm miserable now'. There were some lines about being kept under the stairs and such like. It was introduced by saying that J.K Rowling is a fan of the Smiths and Morrissey and the influence is plain to hear from the Smiths records.

It’s Been A Bad Week: Hosted by Steve Punt and Hugh Dennis every Thursday on BBC Radio 2 at 22.30pm and repeated on Saturdays (next 21st)at 13.30pm .....but not broadcast on the internet so far as I know.

Oh how I wish Morrissey could sell as many copies of his new album as the New Harry Potter.....advance orders of 1M already they say. & I wonder if anyone has read about Rowling's appreciation of Morrissey and then bought his records?

I steadfastly guarantee that it will not be amusing, as Punt and Dennis are that rare commodity, a double act comprising two straight men.

They are also so charisma-free that they boast the ignominious honour of being the only double act in comedic history whom nobody knows which one is which.

I only heard the programme in passing - it isn't the sort of show I would tune in for. And I think I should have said that the person who does the songs on that show isn't Punt or Dennis. BTW, P&W are the 'other two' from the 'Mary Whitehouse Experience'. David Baddiel and Rob Newman were the famous ones out of that show.
