The Back to Mine collections are very interesting and gives you a view in to the artists own musical collection/favourites. The Orb collection was brilliant and was not dance music oriented as one would think.
Sure Morrissey will include some of his own well known influences(Dolls, Nico, etc.), but be prepared for a bit of obscurity. Should be great.
In fact he might even release one of his new tracks on the disc. Other Back to Mine artists gave exclusive unreleased tracks to thier compilations.

One article says that it's a release, the second article says it is a TV show. What's it going to be?

Oh I think this could be interesting! He made me discover such great bands as the monochromse Set etc. .....I'm not always sure of his taste in music, but hey, we all have "bodys in our cellars" as we say here...

This sounds absolutely fantastic! Wow! this almost makes up for the TATU-scare I had just then. This will be an astonishing album I think. Sandie Shaw with Nico, Velvet Underground with the Supremes...Maybe he'll even put on Jobriath. I've never heard him before, but I'm fascinated with him.
I HAVE noticed over the years that Moz's taste in music is a lot like mine. Probably half of my record collection I owe to him. I have the same taste in books as well.
I can't wait! I mean, it's sort of a new album really, isn't it? Extatic!

I recently checked out a Nina Simone CD from the library because when I saw it I had remembered Moz saying in an interview her voice was really something. Thanks for the tip Moz, it's amazing!

We already know a lot about his musical taste. Will there be any surprises is what I wonder? Bowie, T-Rex, NY Dolls, Patti Smith, Ramones, Cockney Rejects, The Business, X-Ray-Spex, Klaus Nomi, Angelic Upstarts, TV Personalities, The Sparks, The Thrills, Echobelly, Suede, Ludus, Gen X, Velvet Underground/Nico, Hank Snow, Siouxsie, Apex Theory, Smoking Popes, Shirley Bassey, Timi Yuro, Sinatra, Pony Club, Phranc, Gallon Drunk, King Cheetah, Sack, etc..... What else am I forgetting? Hopefully, it will be some more obscure stuff, rather than the usual intro-tape fare, and well kown acts. I'd like to see Moz getting into some Tex Ritter, or Snow Patrol or something.

I hope Moz hasnt forgotten the 'Drunk. I thought there last two albums were their best yet and theyre far better live than the lame Sack and Pony Club.

I've always been interested in whether or not Moz speaks French and whether he's ever really had an interest in the French Crooners (and Croonettes) like Aznavour, Montand, Piaf, Dalida, Lama, etc and this whole thing about the apparent communication between him and Lady Morrissey is very intriguing. I mean...Moz surfing the net?

hey, its my 18th birthday today! well actually it was yesterday now! anyway i asked for a smiths/morrissey or depeche mode song to be played on andrew collins' show on bbc 6 music on friday for my birthday and he played 'this charming man' at the top of the show and dedicated it to me! did anyone hear it?

Just downloaded "One Horse Town." The Studio version sounds quite different than the one I heard on the intro tape last summer. It's quite good though. Not as good as "Deckchairs And Cigarettes", but very good.
