Guitarist Johnny Marr Plugging New Band
Jan 23, 12:16 PM EST
Guitarist Johnny Marr of the British pop band The Smiths has put together a new band called Johnny Marr and the Healers.
Marr said he doesn't talk to The Smiths lead singer Morrissey but as he puts it, "There's not talking and then there's not talking." He said it's not so much about attitude as much as he has lots of friends he doesn't talk to any more.
Marr said people make a big deal about him supposedly having a feud with Morrissey when they were probably the closest ones in the band. He said he's got more issues with the other guys in The Smiths than Morrissey.
Still, he's moved on, but some fans haven't. When asked what he could buy if he had a dollar for every time someone asked him if The Smiths were getting back together, Marr said, "A shotgun. And turn it on myself."
