  • "You've Got Everything Now" performed right in the midst of the audience - lucky swines! In the studio: "Nowhere Fast" - Johnny "Cool" Marr with ciggie hanging nonchalantly, just strumming away.
"Boy With A Thorn..." - Ooooooh, ooooh!
And the last 5 minutes of our Morrissey chatting in his oh-so-knowing way!

  • is this true or is morrissey trying to re-write history? was this brought up in the severed alliance? (i can't remember. it's been so long since i read it). and what's with that smirk at the end of said comment? sounds like moz is just trying to stick it to "the other two". funny as hell though...

BUT- the naration and music clips are astounding and the ending interview with Moz is great stuff... No I didn't understand a single syllable of the hosts' Nordic banter but it didn't matter- the visuals were fascinating and fortunately a large part of the "voiceovers" were English!!

  • OK...I know it's rather trivial...though not much seems trivial on this site since the tour ended....but I was wondering where Moz is for the interview. One of his homes? And what's that behind the couch on the table? Looks like on the left some ancient fax machine or printer. Somehow there seems to be a grey sleeve holding paper. And on the right some black object(briefcase?) with more paper sticking out of it. It's white, anyway. Guess it could be anything.
The video is real spotty even though I have an insane high speed connection at work. Seems to have frozen on one image every 2 minutes. Both versions are doing this.
      Anyone figure it out?
    Thanks,

  • Great interview. He's just as sharp looking and sharp-tounged as ever.

The quote about animals looking to humans for protection and it being no different than leading children to the slaughterhouse seriously made me reconsider eating pork (beef is already long gone). Chicken and fish will always be a hard sell...they're not mammals.

    • Hi.
My English is not too good, but I wanted the non-Norwegian fans to be able too read this article too. So here's an English translation:

      Morrissey & me
It's Friday October 25th and I have already worked for Lydverket for more than half a year. I have spent almost as long time to get in thouch with the man of my life, Morrissey.

        Video: The Smiths-special (Low bandwidth)
        Video: The Smiths-special (High bandwidth)
        Video: Morrissey-interview (Low bandwidth)
        Video: Morrissey-interview (High bandwidth)

This has been very difficult because Morrissey doesn't have a recorddeal or a management at the moment.

PHOTO: A great and serious moment of my life, Morrissey and me.

      To Stockholm
But one of my highest wishes when I started working as a producer for Lydverket, was to make a Smiths-special. I have seen some Smiths-programs/documentarys the last years, but neither of them has managed to get Morrissey on the screen. The worst example is probably Granada TV in England, where they had animated Morrissey failing to get the original.

Back to Friday October 25th. At 6 a.m. I am running to the train which will take me to Stockholm and the Morrissey-concert. At the train I meet my best friend, Jan Thomas (Hasselgreen). We became friends in the 80's. At a party he wore a The Queen Is Dead t-shirt and I went over to him and said: "So you like The Smiths...". We agreed that the world would not have been the same without The Smiths, and 15 years later we are sitting on a train to Stockholm to experience Morrissey.

I had already called the concertorganizers in Stockholm hoping to get a Morrissey-interview. But the answer were that he didn't give interviews. I had also been calling Albert Hall in London, call Ireland, Paris and Copenhagen, but noone could help me to get in touch with Morrissey. Everybody just told me that he didn't give interviews. But I was going to the concert.

PHOTO: Three norwegian fans in Stockholm before the show, Ales, me and Jan Thomas.

      High Spirits
In Stockholm Jan Thomas and I meet Alex (the man from Giske). We are pretty excited and goes to a bar to exchange lists; the five best Smiths-songs, five best Smiths-albumcovers etc. After some exchanging and discussions we went to Hovet, where tonights concert would take place. We expected most of the audience to be bald men with bear paunce in their late thirtes.

But we were pleasantly surprised when we were wrong, the average age were just above 20 and a large part of the audience were women or "chicks" as Alex called them.

      Favourite chocolate
Hovet was an old hockey hall where they for the occasion did not serve hot dogs by request from Morrissey. Morrissey is carried on stage by the other members of the band. He starts out with a slow version of the Smiths-song "I want the one I can't have" from the album "Meat is murder". Morrissey is in high spirits and talks a lot between the songs. He calles himself Ingmar and sais he came to Sweeden because Marabou chocolate was his favourite (there were posters for Marabou in the hall).

He plays four completely new songs "The First Of The Gang To Die”, “I Like You”, “The World Is Full Of Crashing Bores” and “Irish Blood, English Heart”. After 15 songs Morrissey suddenly throws his pink shirt (Alex thought it was white) to the audience and leaves the stage. To great applause he comes back wearing a black shirt, and presents one of my favourite Smiths-song "There is a light that never goes out". After the song he also throws his black shirt and the lights are suddenly swithed on. We go out to Stockholms cold winterdarkness, extreamly satisfied and with the confirmation that Morrissey is in top shape at the moment.

      Morrissey's secretary
A few days after the trip to Sweden I call the press secretary at Hovet in Stockholm, since she was the most forthcoming of all the people I had called. That was not a bad choice, cause she is very nice
