May I ask, when exactly are there times when it's peaceful? When are there times when there isn't some senseless act of violence being committed so as I could produce my work without offending anyone?

  Not to disparage your argument as I understand your opinion, I just happen to diasagree. You were right in assuming that my comic was created in light-hearted fun, because it was. And I agreee that there is a senseless amount of violence in the world (maybe a bit more in the past year) but I see that as no reason why I should censor my art ("art" Ha!).

  I created my comic out of a deep respect and admiration for the man and his work. I was playing on a theme that seems to be prelevant to some of Morrissey's fans which is the feeling that he saved their lives through his words. I just hammed it up a bit and put a twist on it. I find many of Morrissey's lyrics to be very funny. I personally think, "Bigmouth Strikes Again" is hilarious because all the violence he speaks of in the song comes from his mouth. The man who won't eat a cow is suddenly going to beat a girl to death in her bed?!? (But he was only joking right:)) Morrissey has come under similar fire for , "Suffer Little Children", "Reel Around the Fountain" and others. And what about his ode to the Kays in , "Last of the Famous...?"

I believe Morrissey writes these things because he knows it will push a few buttons. But also becasue he wants to address things that actually happen in the world. It is a sick world where children are raped, women are beaten, killers are glorified on movies and t.v. and every now and then, some one turns infatuation into violent obssesion (Selena, Bjork, Monica Seles, David Letterman). But what's the sense in ignoring these things and pretending they don't happen? That's not to say my comic is making some sweeping social statement or is a call to action (or is in any way comparable to Moz's efforts), but closing our eyes, holding our ears and sweeping things under the rug is not going to make these problems go away.

  To be fair. No one gets killed in my comic. And the would-be-murder goes to prison for his actions. Violence is not glorified (Morrissey acts in self-defense) and good wins over evil. My comic would barely constitute a PG-13 rating.

While I see your plea for less violence in the world I hardly think my comic is akin to setting off bombs in people's mailboxes. I would hope the people who regularly visit this site are of a slightly more mature stature then the average joe and can take my comic at face value and enjoy it for what it is. And I take it from reading the comments on my work, most can.

I do appreciate you taking the time to voice your complaint. We will have to agreee to diasagree.
