Larry also sends the announcement for a record release party taking place in L.A. (special giveaways are possibly in the works - stay tuned for more info):

Underground will be hosting the record release party of The Best of Morrissey. The album is due out November 6th. The event will be Friday November 2nd from 9-2.  Giveaways include posters, c.d.'s.

      You know, I went to Club Underground for one of their supposed "Smiths" themed nights and I heard 1-2 Smiths songs among songs by the Beatles, Guns N Roses, and the Mamas and the Papas. Is this going to be a real Smiths night, or just a another ploy to get my $5.

        I could do without "Do your best...", "Lost" and "Alma Matters". I would have much rather had "My Love Life", "Satan Rejected My Soul" and close with "The Edges are no Longer Parallel". Then it would have been just about perfect.

                      the picture could be better. the tracklisting needs a little work...but yes i will probably find myself in the record store in early november with nothing to buy...and this will be what i buy. maybe just for the remastering. and the liner notes...so, here's a poll question - how many people here are going to buy Rhino's ""best of morrissey" compilation?

                      How ironic that the promo night takes place on November the 2nd as that is about the only track I am waiting to hear...
                      Rhino stuff your free Cds and posters and give the fans what they really want, OK I will spell it out to you because you seem to be hard of understanding... Unreleased tracks, any would suffice but I for one refuse to buy one more compliations until the demands are met!

                          To the person who said they could 'do without "Lost"...' I despair. "Lost" is as fragile and beautiful as a broken birds' wing. It deserves to be heard and not everyone has heard it if they don't have the B-sides. Fuck "Satan...", "Lost" reigns supreme.

                              1oz- on the reverse of Vauxhall & i it can be seen clearly, but here goes. I used to work for a tacky jewellers and this was a popular piece . Mainly bought by either new money or working class people(meant to signify status!) and was much the same as sovereign rings(yuk!) .A gold square intersected with a line( the 1) - this looks likea large M add the oz. Spells Moz.
                              My wife pointed it out! i never see the obvious! Even my profession at the time failed me.
                              oh well, i'll never learn..

                            Hmm I kind of like the pic, even though alot of people so far don't like it. The picture makes it seem like Moz is saying hey I dare you to listen, and to find out about me, he looks very aggresive in the picture, witch is a change from the usual pics on covers.

                              That picture is on the Introducing Morrissey Video collection, or something awfully similar to it, no? And I use the word AWFUL for good reason. I agree with most people, could they not have dug up something BETTER?! Tsk tsk tsk!

                                The composition is good, the look in his eyes is pleasantly piercing....and I like the white background - very clean, very sharp. I don't really agree with unnecessary compilations either, but hey, I might get it anyway.

                                    He looks like an insomniac junkie on the pic. Should be a huge success among the Marilyn Manson crowd, though.
                                    I see Morrissey's trying hard to go down in history in two visual modes: skinny/fey/flowers-in-the-back-pockets/beads etc vs. the current alpha-male/retired boxer look. Not unlike Elvis, I'd say. And you know what? I couldn't care less. We're still mired in trivial subjects and still have no new album to listen to.

                                      If not, bow down, bow down to the cover, the song choice, "re-mastering", bow down to the fact that youre not forced to buy it, and it is intended as an induction, for newcomers, and that you waste time, energy, oxygen, my own, not just yours ranting against this release.                                                       I'm not buying this... There is NO reason whatsoever to support yet ANOTHER compilation. I love Morrisey, but even this album sleeve is unbearable. His head looks like a watermelon compared to his body. What a terrible shot... If he cried over the recent Smiths release, he must be slitting his wrists over this.
