Dave Foley mentions Morrissey on "Politically Incorrect"

A lot of people saw this reference. There seem to be a lot of these references to Morrissey's sexuality lately - even though he has never officialy stated it and he hasn't mentioned the topic in many years. Dean writes:

Just caught this last night as I tuned in for my nightly dose of "Politically Incorrect" (Aug. 24). The topic was Gary Condit's ABC interview and the guests were discussing why some girls are attracted to certain men which they really had no chance of getting. One of the guests, former Kids in the Hall member Dave Foley, likened female interns' attraction to older married politicians with the fact that many females are attracted to Morrissey "who is gay." I don't think that many audience members knew who Morrissey was, or any of the guests for that matter. But, at least Moz got a mention on a hip show, albeit a somewhat derogatory one depending on who you ask.

A left-field observation to be sure, but nice to know that others have Morrissey references ready to go at the drop of a hat, too.

They were talking about Gary Condit and what Chandra Levy saw in him, they strayed off into "what does anyone see in anyone?" and then Foley added something along the lines of "tons of girls are in love with Morrissey and he's gay." Far from being a definitive statement...Foley did once wear a "Smiths" shirt during a "Kids In The Hall" sketch. Trivial no doubt...

To my knowledge Morrissey has never said that he is gay. Hmmmm...

Don't want to hear any, "but isn't it painfully obvious?" replies. The fact is he has never been 100% clear about his sexual orientation. The only thing he has been clear about is that it is irrelevant. And as such I say we leave it alone...

I saw a website with quotes by the Great Moz and he would talk about his love life to be hard. Like in those lines "I've always felt closer to transsexuality than anything else. A lot of male followers are, as far as the eye can see, natural specimens who have very anguished and devilishly rabid desires in my direction. And I find that quite historic." Moz in March 1991 and
"I think I'm just one of those people that God marked on the forehead saying you're meant to do something else. You're not meant to have a happy, fulfilling physical relationship." in September 1992.

morrissey being gay (Score:1)

I think it's great that morrissey doesn't answer the question of his sexuality, but the fact that he doesn't say no when asked if he's gay makes me assume that he's likely at least bi-sexual (but probably mostly he seems non-sexual). It's also a good career move. A lot of people probably wouldn't listen to him if he was openly or flaming gay (which is sad but true). Ever really listen to the lyrics of This Charming Man? hehe. Check it out..

Yeah he wore "The Queen Is Dead" t-shirt..
There are many artist that like to keep a low profile on there sexuality...for example Joan Jett..however I think she's a lesbian(crossing fingers)

Well, Bret Easton Ellis has more or less the same position : almost everybody asks him if he is gay and he never answers and explains this by in a quite clever way, it goes somethnig like "I don't want �y work to be judged as gey or heterosexual litterature"
