India talks to Rodney B. about Morrissey (contributing to Sun Records box set?)

An anonymous person writes:

Last Sunday night between midnight and three Rodney Bingenheimer was doing his show on KROQ (Los Angeles) when the segment "London Calling", which exchanges British Indie happenings with a Brit. This time it was a singer named India. And Rodney and India had a conversation involving Morrissey.

Rodney: How do you you feel singing with Nick Heyward and having Morrissey at the show at Largo.
India: Oh yeah, that was pretty cool, pretty cool. Nick told me quite a bit about The Smiths and and it was pretty cool to see Morrissey and he's in the front row and ah..yeah. You know he was really nice. We (Nick & India) have a song about a girlfriend ("All I want is a girlfriend in a dress") and Nick was telling me about Morrissey's song about a girlfriend in a Komono. (Laughs)

Rodney: Right. It's so weird cause the night before that. I was up in a town near Palo Alto and I was with these Smiths fans, and we were all talking and I got on a plane the next day. Flew in then got to the airport at Burbank straight to Largo and BOOM! Who should be there but Morrissey. Checking you guys out.
India: Yeah!

Rodney: Then he was at Coldplay too.
India: Was he?

Rodney: Yeah ah the first show. So Morrissey's getting around. Also Andy Paily was with Morrissey at the Nick Heyward show and looks like Morrissey is going to do a song on the SUN RECORD's box set. It's got Paul McCartney on it, Elton John, Three Doors Down... a lot of people doing rockabilly songs.
India: Wow!

Rodney: And I think Morrissey's going to do a song for the SUN RECORDS box set coming out on London Sire Records probably end of the year.
India: Wow! I, I don't know to many Morrissey songs and I keep asking people what's one of his songs he plays. Oh really depressing stuff. And I'm like oh I really want to hear it.

Rodney: Well I was really into the Smiths. I like the Smiths. But solo Morrissey I like that album YOUR ARSENAL that he did with um...Mick Ronson. It's a real cool album.
India: Yeah I got to educate myself more on Morrissey songs...

Then India and Rodney proceed to talk about the British indie charts and Rodney pops a question about Michael from the band Charming.

Rodney: Yeah, so what did Micheal think about meeting Morrissey at the Nick Heyward show.
India: Oh he was, he was pretty pleased. Yeah.

Rodney: Yeah, him and his girl, and Jason and Colin got to meet Morrissey and...
India: Yeah that's true. Michael's pretty cool. He's pretty up to date on most music.

Note: I recorded the show so the dialogue is correct. Sorry if I misspelled artist names.

I had never to this day measured the distance between Europe and California ; I know none of the people mentionned .
Frankly I can't see the point of pursuing an interest in the career of a non singing minor Californian celebrity .
Now you'll soon be a was for me .
Distance and time will really kill you after all...

In their latest issue there is a small caption regarding the supposed Sun tribute album. They mention various "artists" who are lined up to contribute, the most ridiculous being Page and Plant by the way, but of course, of course of course they keep Moz hidden.

i think it would be wonderful to see moz on the sun tribute. sun helped get rockabilly music out there back in the 50's and that obviously influenced moz to an extent...not to mention boz boorer and the rest of the band...and yes, elvis was on sun...so i could see it happening, though i doubt it actually will.
