Courtney Love's message board response to meeting Morrissey

...I went to the Hole website and checked their message board, to which Courtney Love and her bandmates apparently reply to. Here is the thread:
Courtney, you had dinner with Morrissey and Stipe!?

and here was the most relevant submission (I'm assuming it's from Courtney - sorry it's hard for me to make heads of their message board) - maybe "clover" is someone else, or the "webmistress" Courtney uses, but it seems to be writ from C.L.'s viewpoint:
"he

wAS VERy polite and nice. micheal was really nervous so i went to be the loud person at the table, when i got there mark wahlberg was there
"im having dinner with morrisey " i said- he looked aty me funny
"you dont know who he is do you?" i asked

he did not.

wierd.

we had fun, it was especially great when the goth kids came over and totally ignored me and micheal to get to him, i think it mazde him feel good, i think hes a bit reclusive, but my manager is totally in love with him now and hopefully will help him----

respectfully
clover"

If that was indeed Courtney speaking, I'd have to say that Morrissey is far better off managing himself. There's absolutely NO reason for Morrissey to get caught up with anyone dealing with Courtney. What a joke of a suggestion! I absolutelty DELIGHTED in seeing that Courtney and Stipe were ignored by fans trying to speak to Morrissey. Wow, we really do have class.

However I recommend that people compare the thread which will undoubtedly develop in this news item, just as it followed the original "sighting" item, with the thread on the Hole fanboard.

Geez! We come across as a bunch of bitchy backbiters! And they are so polite and complimentary about Stipe and Moz. None of this "oh yeah, she's and old hag, and he's crap, and anyone who likes them probably murdered Kurt Cobain" stuff.

That said, the next time I check back at the Hole site, it'll probably be full of ghastliness . . . still . . .

The National Enquirer? Now that was a joke, son, a joke.

I have seen it. It's a sleazy documentary, featuring a bunch of unbelievable witnesses-I mean who can beleive anything her dad says? Besides being abusive and crazy, he has spent years trying to make a buck of his daughter's name. Everyone Broomfield interviewed either was crazy, moronic, strung out, or had an axe to grind. Sometimes all at once.

The truth is that on 3/30/94, Kurt's went with his best friend, Dylan Carlson, to buy a shotgun. The gun was purhcased with Kurt's money but in Dylan's name, because Kurt was concerned that the police would confiscate the weapon as they had four others. Five days later, Kurt used that gun to kill himself.

                That's pretty straightforward, isn't?

I'm not huge fan of Courtney. I'm pretty sure Kurt had a huge hand in "Live Through This", if he didn't actually write the majority of it, and that Billy Corgan played the same role for "Celebrity Skin". But this whole killed Kurt thing is stupid.

However, I strongly urge you all to consider this: Courtney is one of the most powerful CEOs in rock music today and not only does she actually help administer Hole.com she also played a key role in keeping Napster free and accessible to everyone who both loves and loathes her. There is no doubt in my mind that she would sign Morrissey to her up and coming record label. Hole is no longer with Geffen; Courtney has severed her contract with Sir David last summer. Pop stars like politicians market themselves, and our dearly beloved Morrissey is no exception so don't turn your critical noses up to Mozzy too much for having a session of tea and sympathy with the Lady Love. In the final analyiss, she may be the siren that lures Morrissey back into the studio and you and I back into ectasy. As they say, behind all great male artists, lies a mad muse...or a bald, sexually ambivalent man in electric blue eyeliner.
