I write from the renowned Homes Of Football Exhibition in Ambleside,The English Lake District. The exhibition features the work of Football Trust/Foundation photographer Stuart Clarke, "The Pele of the football photography world"... Total Football Magazine 1999

...I came across a selection of projected backdrops used for 'Moz Angeles' March 2000. The image for "football boys" is taken from The Homes Of Football collection (actually titled "Afore Skiddaw, Braithwaite V Lunesdale 1994")

"Afore Skiddaw" is available as part of the HOF postcard series and I can only assume that this is how Morrissey became aware of the image.

It's called soccer. Yeah I don't care what other countries call it. It's still the same sucky sport it has always been. Did you get a load of all those soccer fans?! They are just waiting for a chance to explode! This is the only sport in which people will be trampled to death over a 1-1 tie! How pathetic. Nice background projection though.

  • I always thought Morrissey was a Man United fan (the only problem with that assumption being that he is actually from Manchester)...so what's with all the West Ham stuff? The West Ham badge, Bobby Moore, the West Ham gates, and another badge obviously the West Ham badge but with different colours?
But he must be a Man U fan...nobody else would ever admit to liking Eric Cantona! Or name a song Roy's Keen unless it was full of abuse...
So...does anyone know what team he does support?
