I'm not sure if this really qualifies as "Morrissey" news, because it's actually news of us Moz website operators.
An article appears in the December 2000 issue of Record Collector magazine, called "Girlfriend in a .Com," surveys the Smiths/Morrissey websites. The two-page article lists nearly two dozen sites and shows five site screen captures. There are also capsule reviews and the links to each site.
Included are: Shoplifters Union (called "Shoplifters United"), The Last of the Famous International Webrings, Passion Just Like Mine, Morrissey at 45 RPM, Strangeways Here We Come, The Arcane old Wardrobe, The Art of the Smiths, Pashernate Place, It May All End Tomorrow, Cemetry Gates, Can You Blame Us, Morrissey-solo, Morrissey Tour, Rush to Danger, Aquaboogie Presents: History with Morrissey, The Draize Train, Torr's Moz Site, Johnny Marr's Healers Official Site, Johnny Marr Official Site, Boz's Rockabilly Frenzy and of course the El Vez Official Site.
All sites mentioned are generally reviewed favorably, although I think my site was misquoted and there are a considerable number of minor errors.
