  • Is there any official word on this? Has anyone called to find out if this is happening or not? I tried to call and couldn't get a human being, or even a multi-celled organism masquerading as one. Rain and 30 degree temps don't sound fun if there are no passes and wristbands waiting at the end of my tissue box.

  • The menu is great. There are no track names before each song though like on the Complete Picture. Nothing shocking. The lyrics do come up as subtitles, but we already know those, RIGHT?

  • So I'm watching the video for Seuedehead and in one scene Morrissey is in a barn reading a book by James Whitcomb Riley. Does anyone know which book it is exactly? This sort of stupid stuff intrigues me.

    • There's a beautiful photo of James Dean reading out of that book (same edition anyway) and I believe that the title is more visible in the picture of JD. I looked all over the internet to give you a link, but couldn't find it. Sorry.
It would be fun for someone to post all the James Dean pictures that video is based on, ie, JD playing bongos with the cows, on the tractor, in front of the water tower... Morrissey was really faithful to those photographs in making the video. A lot of the other videos seem thrown together, but the attention to detail in the Suedehead video is fantastic.

  • I've owned the DVD for only an hour, and I already found a mistake. The video for Will Never Marry is taken from Introducing Morrissey, and it's just the regular studio version of the song. The credits incorrectly say that it is taken from Live In Dallas, and all of the other information incorrectly calls it the "live" version. I wonder if there was some mix-up, or maybe some legal problem with using the Live In Dallas version.

  • i got my DVD today and even if it is just another repackaging of previously available material, i have not been introduced to the majority of it and am delighted to own it now. i have simply been waiting for the right re-issue and now i have it. Thank you very much

  • Morrissey releasing his films on archival DVD format is important, since our "Hulmerist" & "Malady..." VHS tapes will deteriorate over time. (and may have already, in some cases).

The situation is parallel to the period when the Compact Disc was first introduced. I'm sure music fans didn't go around complaining that the songs that they already owned on cassette or record were being "reissued" on CD.

Had "Hulmerist" or "Malady..." already been released on DVD, then we could call "¡Oye..." a reissue, but this is not the case.

  • Is this damn thing gonna be released in the UK or what?
If it is then I haven't seen it, and if it isn't then it's a big piss take 'cos Moz is still an Englishman at the end of the day.

  • Seeing some previously unreleased (in terms of being able to buy) videos is a pleasant change from the previous package/repackage reissues from WEA, but aren't there still more unreleased? I know at least "Our Frank" exists, but I'm a little rusty on my videos - are there more (other than the videos from "Maladjusted") that are out there that haven't been released?

  • Although a big fan for many years (11 now!) I had never seen a Morrissey video until I got the new DVD, solely for the purpose of securing my place in line for the signing here in NYC.

Watching him move and gesture is wonderful (I have seen him live 4 times, but not so close up)...who is cooler? Nobody I can think of. Just watch the fun "one-shot" video for "Tomorrow". He's flawlessly cool.

I was surprised with the low-budget production value of the videos, and sorry, but a Moz video without MOZ in it doesn't quite do it for me ("Sunny", "Everyday is like Sunday")--although I think "Boxers" works well.

I simply don't understand what is going on in the "Interesting Drug" video. Who is that woman!??

"November Spawned a Monster" is highly entertaining--if you find the idea of watching Morrissey writing in the desert with an apple in his mouth enticing. I do.

This video makes me want to get the "Live In Dallas" video, as the clips of him being charged and kissed onstage are priceless. Just watch his uncomfortable expression as he gets love-mauled: He doesn't fight them, but he doesn't accept their embraces either.

Although there's something strong about the Mozzer, he also looks as if you could knock him down with a gentle shove. And he may love you for it.

  • There's a lot still out there. I think that the DVD is awesome. I'm really happy to own it. But I am really disappointed that the record company didn't go all out and put all of the videos on there. I know that there is a video for "Our Frank" "You're Gonna Need Someone On Your Side" "Tomorrow" (alternate version) "Alma Matters" "Hold On To Your Friends" and there just may be a couple others that I don't know about. But I think it was really distasteful to not include all the videos from "Malady Lingers On" and "Hulmerest" like "Ouija Board". Does anyone else agree? And also does anyone else know of any other videos that I have not mentioned?

  • Hmmmm...let me remind everyone that the reason that some videos are missing might be because of legal reasons and record company issues. You have to remember, Mozzer has changed record companies several times, some of the videos may not belong to Warner at this time so they can't release them.

  • I recommend this DVD to everyone. It is a must for any fan. I don't think it will dissappoint anyone. I have noticed some neutral comments but come on? Anything Moz puts out is worth getting. So it's missing some videos, can you blame them? The fact that Reprise is still putting out Morrissey media should make us all happy. Be thankful and enjoy, he made those videos for us fans.

I just got my disc yesterday. I as remove the thin plastic my hands are shaking so badly, that I have to do a couple shots of Bacardi Limon before I can continue. You would have thought I had just got a new porn movie the way my hands were shaking, and my heart was pounding. Feeling like the moment would never come, and the 2 seconds it took my DVD player to read the disc seemed like an eternity, then I had sick thoughts of me getting the only defective copy and I started to panic...

Seriously though, this format it so great even if you've see most of the videos or own most of them on VHS. The video transfer to DVD is very decent, and the sound is great. DVD discs actually have a broader dynamic audio range than CD(CD "chops" off some highs and lows for compression purposes...losing that "Warm" feeling of tape of vinyl. So it's worth it for the sound alone! Also gone are the days of rewinding, your favorite videos are at a touch of a button, which is so cool.

Any moz fan should have this. That's my humble opinion.
