I got this from a bootleg DVD I found on Smithstorrents a while back which was a comp of all the BBC televison appearances. I ripped the audio from this track because I don't remember seeing it before here, or on any CD boots, so I thought it might be cool to pass around...

It's interesting for several reasons, one being that it's a b-side performed on TV, assumedly to promote the My Love Life single...not sure though, as the broadcast date, according to the DVD, says 1990, and that single didn't come out 'til post Kill Uncle...

But also, it's just Mozzer and a guy on piano, who I don't recognize...maybe Mark Nevin?

Another thing is, I think this predates The Lads, which is assumedly why the performance stays true to the studio incarnation of the song, just the stark piano arrangement, as opposed to the Buddy Holly deal the guys gave it during the 91 tour.

Anyway, sit back, have a drink, enjoy...

The piano man is Steve Nieve of the Attractions.

There is also a guitarist on it. Just a little bit, but he's there. Can't rememember who. Wasn't any of Moz's at the time, it was the guy playing in Ross' house band at the time alongside Steve Nieve and drummer Bruce Thomas. I seem to recall that Steve Nieve also contributed his talents to 'Kill Uncle' under the nom-de-plume Steve Heart, or have I mis-remembered ?
