I will say now that they are answering mysteries it's kind of sad. We pretty much know what's going on now.
At least we still have the mystery of the four toed statue left. :)

Saw the first two episodes of season five; all I can say is that the series is getting weaker as it goes along. I'll watch the remaining episodes, but I'm losing interest - what the hell is going on?

I meant to say Wednesday by the way. Although sometimes if I miss an episode I will break down and buy the episode before I go to work and load it on the iPhone so I can catch up and kill an hour on the train.

I am thinking that we will find out that the old lady that originally briefed Desmond about time and space (the one we saw talking to Ben at the end of last weeks episode) will turn out to be Faraday's mother.

I also believe that by the end of the series Ben will turn out to be a tragic hero to the series or at least a sympathetic character.

Definitely agree with that. In that 'Lost: Destiny Calls' thing the writers were saying "Ben's definitely a bad guy", but surely he's just doing what he has to do to protect the island? I thought it was a shame they said that, because what I like about Lost is that the characters are nuanced, rather just good/bad, which makes you actually think. Like, is Ben bad because he killed all the Dharma Initiative people? Well, probably not, because it would appear that their intentions toward the island are not exactly honourable, for want of a better word.

Anyway, I should go and do some work now.

HOLY CRAP tonights episode was the best of the season so far.
My brain is still trying to process it all.

Smokey, the temple, Christian, Charlotte's past, more donkey wheel...

Lost either gives you a throw away episode or an episode where they reveal way to much for you to figure out!

As far as last week's episode:
Things I noticed immediately... they take "Flight 316" to get back to the island.

There is that passage from the bible - John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

The island is the "world" and John Locke can be considered the island's true "son". On top of that notice that they begin to arrive on the island after Jack opens the "suicide" note from John that said "Jack, I wish you had believed in me." On top of THAT, we already know from the commercials for next week that John is alive again. Could that be a resurrection of sorts.

I'm curious...
Why was Ben beat to a pulp? I saw he called Jack from a marina. I'm thinking maybe he made right with his threat to Widmore and killed Penny..(with Penny obviously putting up a fight)

and...I now get all the connections on the flight back..it has to be the same

Sayid is now Kate due to the marshall
Hurley brought Charlie's guitar case
Kate's prob preggers
ect ect...
But all I could think is ..how the hell did Hurley get out of prison and why is Sayid being taken to Guam in cuffs. I guess those will be the "flashbacks" in the next upcoming seasons.

In conclusion...
I believe it's a time loop
or
some religious garden "island" of eden thing..which Locke being the "Jesus" figure...

I also think Faraday might be Jacob. He seems to time travel alot and I'm wondering if by doing that his "consciousness" got stuck in time.

Now, if there are people out that have no idea what Lost is, they probably think I'm a f*****g loon!! :crazy:

Ben's "lawyer" got Hurley cleared. The lawyer tells Ben that it will not be a problem since the man outside the mental institution was dead before Hurley left his room.

I say Jack becomes Jacob but I agree that Ben attacked Penny and lil' Charlie.

Yeah, now that I saw it, it rekindled something from the golden olden Lost days =)
BUT...I'm pissed I have to sit through 70's Dharma crap. Dhrama was great when I didn't know WHAT IS WAS. Now that I know..move on...to the past..WAY PAST..

I love that Sawyer used my Richard Alpert nickname, eyeliner guy.
I wonder if they cast the actor that plays Alpert because of that dark eye quality. He can def pass for an Epyptian..well , an ancient movie Epyptian :)
