Now that most of us are familiar with the new album, it will be interesting to see how you all think it stands up to the previous two.
So in what order would you place them?
For now, I'd go for:
1) Quarry
2) ROTT
3) YoR

I didn't understand this when ROTT came out and I don't understand it now.
How on earth can you make a judgement on music after only hearing it for one day?
Yet seemingly, so many people can.

I guess many people in here have "live for a day" mentality.
I need at least six months to decide whether Years of Refusal is better than Ringleader.
At this moment Ringleader is my favourite album in the decade, but I haven't voted yet.

Was thinking the same thing, but between ROTT and YATQ, Quarry wins hands down.

I'm only hearing it for the second time right now, but Years Of Refusal is definitely not as good as You Are The Quarry. That's not even close. As for Ringleader, I don't think it's as good (as of now -- perhaps too early) as there aren't any songs hitting me as great as "Life is a Pigsty" or "To Me You Are A Work Of Art".
Years Of Refusal is sounding like a perfectly likable album, but down there with the least exciting of his career. Oh well, it'll have to do, I guess.
But, again, I'm only on listen #2. This very second I'm diggin' the lyrics of "I'm OK By Myself". But so far, my fave part is the "I'm Throwing My Arms Around Paris"-"All You Need Is Me"-"When Last I Spoke To Carol" stretch, plus "It's Not Your Birthday Anymore". "When Last I Spoke To Carol" is my early overall favorite.
But, oops, "Quarry" just started playing on the ITunes and...yup, it's way, way better.

I feel Quarry is very overrated. At the time I thought it was the greatest thing ever like a lot of others, but it's not held up well. Some great, great singles but far too much filler like Lazy Dykes and Know How I Feel in my opinion.

"All The Lazy Dykes" is one of the highlights!
"How Coud Anybody Possibly Know How I Feel" may sound like filler on "Quarry", but it's as good as several tracks on "Refusal". What on "Refusal" touches "First of the Gang to Die" or "I Have Forgiven Jesus"?

Well, I'll have a better feel for Years Of Refusal in a day or two. It's on my IPod Shuffle now. :)

This post reminded me that I've lived a lot longer with You Are The Quarry and Ringleader. I know those songs. I can anticipate them. Years of Refusal is stil so new and on some level, it is difficult for me to pick out a stand out song. If I had to pick it'd definitely be the stretch you mention here. All You Need is me fits so nicely bookmarked by those tracks. It makes the song so fresh again.
I picked You Are The Quarry. Even the 'filler' I look forward to.

Thatīs easy, as YATQ is my favourite Morrissey-album ever!
ROTT took me a long time to really like, but after some weeks it really grabbed me. After listening to YOR for just two days, my feeling is that I might like YOR a little better than ROTT, but Iīm not sure yet.
P.S: There are no filler songs on YATQ, this is a perfect work of art!

Not a single vote for Ringleader? I find that album very underestimated. Life is a Pigsty and Dear God please help me must be two of the best Moz-songs, and no tracks on Years of refusal are nearly as good. I need to listen more before I can be certain but at the moment I'd probably rank it:
1. ROTT
2 YATQ
3 YOR
Sister Rose

You Are The Quarry is awesome, totally a great album. Ringleaders Of The Tormentors...was hard listening at first, but now I love it. It gets better with every play. Years Of Refusal...I have just listened to, first time. YOR is catchy for sure....dont know what I think about the lyrics yet. I love "I'm Throwing My Arms Around Paris", "Mama Lay Softly On The Riverbed" and "Its Not Your Birthday Anymore"
I guess my fave is "You Are The Quarry"

Black Cloud, Carol, Skull, Paris, AYNIM, OK by myself, One day goodbye will be farewell, It's not your birthday anymore, and most of all, Riverbed, touches and exceeds those two songs in my opinion-- lyrically and musically.
1. Years of Refusal
2. ROTT
3. YatQ

I agree. I have not answered the poll of where it ranks because I haven't had time to let it settle in and have the newness wear off.
When I first heard Your Arsenal I thought that You're Gonna Need was a great song and a couple others were good but for the most part it was pretty weak.
Looking back Your Arsenal is a good album but it has two flaws for my taste. Spencer is a terrible drummer. It's just a bunch of 4/4 beats with little to no fills and overall the album just isn't mastered in a way that it really projects. I want to be able to turn it up real loud and make my ears bleed blood of pleasure... but alas.. it just can't be done.
